So a colleague lent me The Blind Side and after getting her assurances that it isn't overly pro-Ole Miss, I've read it. In the Egg Bowl chapter, on the 2005 game, the author (Michael Lewis) states:
"It had been several years, for that matter, since Mississippi State had beaten any other team in the SEC."
In 2004, the year before, we beat Kentucky and Florida. In 2003, Vanderbilt. In 2002, we did go 0-8.
Please note that I am suggesting no conspiracy. Just kind of curious how a blatantly wrong fact like that slipped in.
