At no time, for no reason, shall any poster on the Sixpack refer to any team other than Mississippi State University. The message board gods have spoken. Southern Miss? Who's that? At least you didn't mention the-school-who-must-not-be-named. Also, today is National Signing Day! No other topics allowed, especially those concerning a round ball.

That win might have nailed down a NCAA bid. Plus were 0-18 vs Memphis. While storming the court may be a bit much, I certainly understand it...especially in the heat of the moment. It was an exciting game

NITchampsburg? A buddy of mine that went there hates it, but I was wondering if he was only shamefully telling me that, and if maybe secretly the whole fan base loves it.

We refer to it as The Yurt. It's a pile of **** that only the Tad Pad could rival. But its our pile of ****

I know Southern doesn't have that much of an athletic budget, but to leave it in the condition it's in is a huge slap in the face of any basketball fan.

12-2 and a #19 final ranking in football and basketball sitting at 20-3 right now. All that with just ten fans. Amazing.

It did get somewhat of a renovation a couple of years ago...but I'm afraid that renovations wont do much to it. Need many more crowds of 8k like tonight to build a new one.

Havent lost a home game in the Big 3 sports since May. That feels kind of nice

..I don't keep up with USM basketball, but last night watching the Memphis vs. USM game, the TV color guy pointed out one of the USM player's best games was against Belhaven.

I am assuming that is tiny Belhaven college in Jackson, MS. If it is another Belhaven he was taking about, then please correct me.

If MSU played Belhaven, every talking head on ESPN would be screaming about how MSU's RPI should be in the toilet for playing a NAIA team. (I assume Belhaven is big enough to be a NAIA school).

But since it's USM, national color TV guy actually commends one of your players for "his great outing against Belhaven."

Our fans laughed at it. It was stupid on the part of the marketing people. However, they may have somewhat redeemed themselves with their "Not In Our Yurt" t-shirts for the Memphis game.

I'm pretty sure if MSU beat an unranked LSU team in football, your students would rush the field or at least try. When you haven't beaten a team in forever and that team has been one of the most successful programs in the nation during that time period, excitement is sure to follow. Like I stated earlier, that win likely ensured a tourney bid as well....barring a complete meltdown

Would we be thrilled to finally beat LSU? Of course. Would the fact that in this situation they would be unranked dampen it? Yes.

We'd scream our heads off about it, but no, we wouldn't rush the field. Beating a 1 or 2 ranked team in football or basketball is the only reason to rush a field/court. If we pull one over on UK this year, will we rush the court even then? I doubt it.

Their SOS is 39th, and ours is 61st. I don't understand it, but obviously there's a rule where you can play a lower-level team in the regular season and it doesn't hurt you. So now, not only is this board obsessed with Ole Miss, but we're obsessed with USM too. Awesome.

NAIA teams do not count in the RPI formula. Instead of 23 games being counted at the moment, they only consider 21.

But they really do play non-Div. I regular season games. This year they played both Belhaven and Spring Hill (same conference as Belhaven) as regular season games.</p>

is when we beat Alabama in 07. Now.. as far as losing to them in a long stretch of games somewhat applies to that win since we did beat them the year before but it was pretty a big deal that we had beat them 2 years in a row.<div>
</div><div>we didn't rush the field, but the excitement that day was absolutelyphenomenal. In the grand scheme of things though, we all knew that Alabama was unranked and statistically mediocre.</div><div>
</div><div>As far as rushing the court if we beat Kentucky... hell, I'd be shocked as hell if we didn't.</div>

They played Blue Mountain College in a Regular Season game in Blue Mountain's first year to have a Boys Basketball team.<div>
</div><div>For those of you not familiar with Blue Mountain, they are an NAIA school of approximately 600 people that just opened its doors to non-ministerial Boys students in 2006. Then, they only beat them by 15 or 20 points I believe.</div>

An UNranked LSU team. Now, a top 5 LSU team we most likely would. Southern beat an average team and rushed the court like they had just beat UAB in football. Y'all are still a sad excuse for a University.
