Correct. Look at my post where i said "I'm sure some of it was due to covid" and "during the biden admin"
There were no BOGO's at Publix during the Biden admin. I admit much of it due to covid, but the sale tags at Publix did not return until the Trump admin took office.
So there were BOGO's at Publix during the Biden Admin and the sale tags didn't return during the Trump admin?

I'm simply saying there were not BOGO's and sale tags at the grocery store until the Trump admin took over. It's a broad statement and there may be a couple exceptions, but by and large that is a factual statement for my local grocery stores.

Seeing that prices skyrocketed after covid, i don;t believe anyone who says there were sales during that time. People were literally hoarding groceries and inflation reached 9% during the biden admin. There simply weren't that many sales and the Biden admin did a very poor job of getting prices down. Inflation was the #1 issue during the election and the voters soundly rejected the Biden admin.

But that is straight up false and you know it is false. It is why you tried to change it to during covid in 2021. There was zero change for BOGO deals from Dec/Jan to Jan/Feb and beyond at my Publix.

On one hand you're defining it as during covid and the 9% inflation, and then on the other hand saying something Trump did changed it when his admin took over. It literally can not be both and you are making yourself seem dumb. And while I disagree with you a lot, I don't believe you are dumb, so I can only assume you're trolling or just refuse to admit you're wrong like about the time of the State of the Union.

I didn't change anything. It says it right there in my post.

Edit: Sorry it was actually in the post a couple above that. But it's too hard to requote. Just look at the post.

Do you dispute my statement.

1) inflation was the #1 issue in the election?
2) The primary reason dems lost was because they did not reduce inflation fast enough
You are changing the discussion. At no point have I have been arguing against either of those points.

They support my contention that there were not many sales at grocery stores during the biden admin.

Look at this idiot... Always showboating and then trying to shift the narrative.

Again, for the board newbies who came over post the merger. This poster is a known liar who lost a ban bet, then, instead of honoring it, he changed his username. He only admitted it when he screwed up.

He also said he was glad that my Father in Law died when I mentioned it. He has also bashed the kids of other posters.

He places on ignore anyone who shows him for the lying ******* he is. Tread lightly trying to take this troll seriously.

Just wanted to point out that Biden met with grocery CEOs to put pressure on them to lower prices and many responded. So he didn't do nothing. What has Trump done?

"President Biden is calling out price gouging and calling on other big corporations to join leaders like Target and Walmart to lower prices and give families more breathing room.

Read more below:

NBC News: Target lowering prices on 5,000 frequently bought items
[Rob Wile, 5/20/24]

Target said Monday it will lower prices on approximately 5,000 frequently bought items as it seeks to stay competitive amid signs consumers are experiencing price fatigue.

The company said in a statement that the price cuts are concentrated in grocery staples like milk, meat, bread, fruit and vegetables, as well as paper towels and diapers, with many cuts affecting its company-owned Good & Gather and Everspring brands.

It had already cut prices on some 1,500 other items."

BOGO has never waivered for me. Publix near the house so where I typically shop and hasn't changed.

Will say, while I don't believe they've gone down, and do feel they've gone up. I wouldn't describe my groceries as skyrocketing up this year either.
you should try aldi's if there's one near you. I have both Aldi and Publix within 200 years of each other. we buy all the basics at Aldi they're significantly cheaper. Same with chicken and some processed things like lunch meat, good food and maybe 20% lower priced. Other things we can't get at Aldi we go to Publix - wife prefers their yogurt and their fruits and vegetables are better. All in all we're paying a little more than we did before the 2021 inflation, but not much.

Love the BOGO at Publix though

Just unequivocally false. Maybe for your Publix as I won't speak for Chicago or Charleston, but at no point were there no BOGO's at my Publix.

Edit to add: I use instacart, so was able to go all the way back to 2022 to confirm BOGO's on my receipts.
Instacart? part of the 1%?? Us retirees on fixed incomes can't afford that.

Like Aldi, but not super close to me, and they don't have everything I want so I end up having to go to multiple places. But do drop by when I'm able and stock up on what they have I'm looking for!

lol, no idea where the 1% line is to know that for sure. But I always use it for pickup, not delivery. Really just a time issue for me. But can put in the order in a slow point at work (I obviously am on this site a bunch too) and then pickup when I'm headed home.

Trump is keeping his campaign promises and is off to one of the best starts in history related to achievements. Promises kept and no amount of lib spin will change the facts.

Further on Aldi, got a great rack of ribs one time at Aldi, as well as a cedar plank salmon. Some random great finds that are cheaper than anywhere else.

The sales did not resume at my local grocery stores until 2024-2025
Don’t you live in Charleston? Because that’s ******** - BOGO has been available at the Publix in west Ashley throughout the Biden admin and now.

Source: me because I shop there and Harris teeter.

I think store managers must have discretion as to what to put on BOGO. I have two within about 5 miles of my home. So depending where I am, I shop at both. So, same day go out different stores and yep, different BOGOs

Walmart’s 2025 Thanksgiving Dinner Cost

Walmart’s annual Thanksgiving meal basket for 2025 is their most affordable yet, priced at under $40 total (approximately $39.92 before tax) to serve 10 people—or less than $4 per person. This marks a significant drop from last year’s price of under $50 (about $7 per person), driven by lower turkey costs and Walmart’s value-focused sourcing. The bundle includes a 13.5-pound Butterball turkey (priced at 97 cents per pound) and 15 classic items for a full feast, such as stuffing, sides, rolls, and pumpkin pie ingredients. It’s available for one-click ordering online via Walmart’s website or app, with pickup or delivery options through December 25 (free express delivery for first-time customers).

What’s Included in the Standard Basket

Here’s the complete list of items in the traditional meal basket:

CategoryItems

This setup provides generous portions for traditional dishes like green bean casserole, mashed potatoes, and pumpkin pie.

Additional Meal Options

Walmart also introduced expanded “one-click” baskets this year:

  • Gluten-Free Thanksgiving Meal: Full spread with gluten-free alternatives, around $50 for 10 people.
  • Balanced Thanksgiving Swaps: Healthier options like high-protein mac & cheese and cauliflower mash, about $30 for 10.
  • Prime Rib Meal Basket: Features Choice Angus beef, salad, potatoes, and wine as a turkey alternative, just over $30.

Comparison to National Average

For context, the American Farm Bureau Federation estimated the average cost of a classic Thanksgiving dinner for 10 at $58.08 in 2024—making Walmart’s deal a notable saver, especially with turkey prices down to their lowest since 2019.

If you’re shopping, no Walmart+ membership is required, but it unlocks perks like free unlimited delivery. Prices may vary slightly by location, so check Walmart’s site for exact totals.

Have you checked the inflation rate or grocery prices recently
Inflation is at 3% and some food is up and some is down. Inflation under Biden was over 9% numbnutz and now you want to whine? Trump has been in office 10 months and he has the FED fighting him politically. Just because he hasn't brought prices down across the board doesn't mean progress is not occurring. Grow a brain please. If Trump is having trouble please know for a fact that it would be much worse under dems. He has done a lot in 10 months and is working day and night for continued progress. He is bringing gas down and is going to import a lot of beef to bring those prices down.

Not to mention he pulled the U.S. out of its sinking economy better than any other country in the world post-covid.
That's a dem talking point. We suck less than the rest. Spare me this crap.
He knows that. He buys groceries. There isn't a grocery shopper in the country who doesn't know that prices have skyrocketed since Trump was inaugurated.
BS. Pure and simple and I shop with my wife. Some stuff has went up and some stuff down. Price of beef is a problem and Trump is addressing it by increasing beef imports. He has brought fuel down but getting companies to pass along savings to consumers is not in his control....that would be communism.

Millions of illegals put on food stamps buying groceries with no worry for cost has an effect. You libtards are stupid but think you're smart. That's a bad combination.
