One of many reasons why the EPA won't go away, regardless of Biff/Pruitt's efforts to do so.
Keep holding out hope, your predictions have been so very sold of late after all.One of many reasons why the EPA won't go away, regardless of Biff/Pruitt's efforts to do so.
Fine. Recent climate change initiatives are secondary to how/why the EPA was established 40+ years ago. Pollution, acid rain, atmospheric accumulation of heavy metals, etc all made by man, all curbed when legislation like the Clean Air Act was enacted. Federal oversight is mandatory because states proved beforehand that they were vulnerable to political bias. The big one that Trump will get overturned is the EPA rule on Greenhouse gas emissions from power plants. That rule alone shuttered about 50% of the coal fired plants in the US. It has already been ruled unconstitutional and the Trump administration said they will no longer defend that rule at SCOTUS.
Perhaps you and others like you should have let the clean air act and the clean water act work as they were written instead of using the EPA to fulfill the rest of your idiotic environmental whacko agenda and then your precious little baby would not be dangling by a thread today.Fine. Dream on dog boy.then your precious little baby would not be dangling by a thread today.
The good news in all of this is that we have tons of strong corroborating science and we have courts. Biff and Pruitt's quest to eviscerate the EPA won't hinge on undoing Obama's climate change initiatives.Dream on dog boy.

50%....what empirical model generated this?glwt with 50%+ less employees.
They are not trying to kill the EPA, they are killing the EPA overreach beyond the letter of the law regarding the Clean Air and Clean Water Act.The good news in all of this is that we have tons of strong corroborating science and we have courts. Biff and Pruitt's quest to eviscerate the EPA won't hinge on undoing Obama's climate change initiatives.
Right up there with Biff's "abolish 2 regs for every new one" EO. Baseless and silly. The Troll model.

I am sure everyone wants and needs clean air and water. The question is how clean does it have to be? Air and water had been livable before Obama regs. That is what needs to be reversed. Water and air do not have to be perfectly pristine. One of many reasons why the EPA won't go away, regardless of Biff/Pruitt's efforts to do so.
With issues like lead and mercury emissions, there is no good side to loosening standards because agriculture and wildlife are harmed and damage is longlasting. Pruitt wants to do far more than undo Obama's climate change initiatives, he wants to attack all clean air and water legislation. I can say this because this is exactly what he did in Oklahoma.I am sure everyone wants and needs clean air and water. The question is how clean does it have to be? Air and water had been livable before Obama regs. That is what needs to be reversed. Water and air do not have to be perfectly pristine.
Yes, I can survive without perfection. The economy has to be given some consideration. I could drink water with livable amounts of impurities. Ditto the air I breath. I simply do not want to see anyone starve to death for lack of enough money to feed themselves and their family. EPA excessive regs reportedly caused a lot
Bama, what were the actions of the courts based on. As I remember, they were looking and new standards set by EPA. You now have a new EPA to reverse the regs of the old EPA which the Courts were relying on. Without being blamed for writing laws, the new court will have to rule according to the new EPA regs. Reversal of the old EPA regs was what guided a hell of a lot of votes in November. The good news in all of this is that we have tons of strong corroborating science and we have courts. You're talking about climate change regs. This goes way past that.Bama, what were the actions of the courts based on. As I remember, they were looking and new standards set by EPA. Ummmm no. It's the "too many regs" rationale, just need to cut a few or rather cut two for every one added that is being referenced....It sounded just as stupid when Trump said it as it did when Emperor Joseph said it in the movie...Amadeus. Moving on....You're comparing the EPA to Piano Sonata no. 11? [roll]
Climate change was not necessarily what I was referring to. It was more simply in the excesses the past EPA's regs. You're talking about climate change regs. This goes way past that.

The really good news is that I didn't have to shell out bucks for a few weeks in Naples FL this winter. Other good news is that hopefully my property here in WV will be waterfront......my heirs will really be thanking me. Speeding up global warming might be a lucrative deal for WV families. The good news in all of this is that we have tons of strong corroborating science and we have courts. Biff and Pruitt's quest to eviscerate the EPA won't hinge on undoing Obama's climate change initiatives.
Insane. You don't remove everything and start adding some back. You can evaluate those that you deem questionable and remove after full analysis. In my building alone are piles of mercury data that would fully justify the need for strict mercury emission standards. Same for PCB and all sorts of Clean Water Act chemicals. The data is there. Biff and Pruitt just don't want to believe it. Like I said before, they start dicking with around by stripping vital regs, the data will be on full display in court.I'd prefer to start at zero, then add only the one's that proved to work or really are needed. We'd still be close to zero.

Sure, that's true. Mercury existed and was just as dangerous before we found out about it and started restricting it. The planet was just as warm/cool back in the day before we started predicting all these "Global warming" models from Man stepping in and heating it up.
We had just as much clean air and water hundreds of years ago before the EPA came in back in the mid 70's and started telling us we were using it all up...along with all of the water.
So yea, I'd agree with you, we were much better off before than we are now with the thousands of pages of EPA regs now "protecting" us.
Just like I said, start at zero, then see what's really needed? My guess is very little if any of it.
So basically, the EPA will not be following their orders and will be in open mutiny from the decisions of their director and Commander in Chief? I capture that correctly? I really love seeing Gov't shills brought to heel.Like I said before, they start dicking with around by stripping vital regs, the data will be on full display in court.
No, from outside agencies and stakeholders. So basically, the EPA will not be following their orders and will be in open mutiny from the decisions of their director and Commander in Chief? I capture that correctly? I really love seeing Gov't shills brought to heel.
No, from outside agencies and stakeholders.
This black guy speaks better than Colin Powell.Ya know, sometimes I just get such a kick out of some of you folks on the Left.
@moe, @bamaEER @WVUCOOPER ,@Original Mountaineer1,@Op2, among others... always seem to be ready to chime in on some debate we often get into here with facts, charts, stats, rebuttals, counter arguments, and usually bloviating soliloquies if not outright mockery of anyone of us on the Right who so much as even questions the legitimacy and/or premise of any Governmental regulation (especially if it involves the environment)
Yet, I have posted several challenges on this forum to many of you in this same group to explain to me how poor Black kids in inner cities are able to achieve fabulous academic results when private Charter and/or Parochial schools are set up and run in the same economically depressed areas that Government run schools are failing them?
Do I get any smart alec "quips" or charts or graphs demonstrating Government's success or even equality? Do I see any rebuttals, or even an explanation from you exhibitionists of Big Government incompetence as to how poor Black kids deemed to be "financially deprived" of Government spending are able to achieve academic success usually on much less funding under the non-Government run models?
No. Abject Silence. Crickets even.
Or when I post details about Trump's minority outreach to build Community banks in inner cities and create access to private capital so more minority owned small businesses can be incubated to wean poor folks who have traditionally lacked a path to entrepreneurship off of Government assistance and into lives of economic self sufficiency, I get no commentary from any of you Socialist know-it-alls...no "rebuttals" no quips, no charts, no graphs or offhanded put downs predicting or suggesting Trump is "stupid" to pursue such an 'obviously doomed' strategy for poor Black people who have depended on your failed redistribution schemes for their economic advancement the past 50 years with zero results. Where's your defense using your ready made "charts" and "graphs" showing that record of Government success? Why no Defense of your philosophy on that?
It's the same thing on almost every issue of race with you Leftist faux race sympathizers... like your indifference to the overwhelming minority support for initiatives like school choice vouchers, or your blindness over political activism in Black Churches who support things like traditional Marriage, the almost universal scorn & mockery among the Left of Black Conservatives, the main news Media's silence condemning or depicting Black racists or Black supremacists like Keith Ellison & Black Lives matter.....all that's quite OK with you charlatans.
Whenever issues of Race run counter to your Leftist orthodoxy, many of you same folks who are so loquacious jumping to the defense of almost any Big Government Leftist environmental extremism are curiously mute, deaf & dumb.
OK, so I suggest what seems to me to be a very reasonable approach of drawing up the registry of all of the EPA's current regs, and seriously re-evaluating their results, effect and/or future need for many of its duplicative or unworkable restrictions--one of you as an off-handed response posted that pic of "Ice-Cube" with the quizzical look on his face as if to imply perhaps I am just too mentally obtuse to even understand the lunacy of my uninformed suggestion.
A sort of 'pictorial racially bigoted commentary' from the kind, tolerant, open minded, compassionate, understanding Left don't you know?
Memo to you mentally schizophrenic Leftists...when you can honestly intellectually countenance the disjointed hypocrisy of your entire dystopian philosophy which has as it's underpinning a total faustian allegiance to Leviathan with all it's distorted inveterate legacy of failures, maybe on that day your arguments can be taken seriously.
That quote would be relevant if the EPA regs are harmonious and produced an aesthetically please result. But alas...
This black guy speaks better than Colin Powell.
