I meant that the coaching hires, and subsequent successful football........would take care of fundraising. I can see where that sounded confusing.Um… no, fundraising is not what a coach should be worried about in 2026 college athletics.
Auburn does not have a problem fundraising you dumb mother 17er.I’m not sure where your getting your info from or why your defending Cohn. Honestly I’m not sure where your confusion or lack of knowledge is coming from but I’m not going to spend my time and energy arguing with you when I have actual sources in the industry. Have a nice day and Hailstate
SureNIL is literally the most important job of an AD. He is awful.
15 to 17 I can believe. A number that puts us in the top 5 in the nation, I do not believe.I really don’t care what you belive. I doubt you even give a dime. This past year 2024/25 we were between 15-17MM and that didn’t include Rev share. We have a lot and I mean a lot more than that before you add in Rev share which really starts with this class. That’s the best way I can explain to it you
Only one person in the country examined his record in depth and interviewed him extensively. John Cohen. It was his damn job to find the cracks & flaws in his resume that are obvious to all of us in hindsight. When we hired morehead everyone in the country thought it was a good hire. Hiring coaches is hard.
You have no idea whether we offered judge or not. Neither do i.
I know people who played with judge at state. Still talk to him on occasion. Some say we offered some say we talked with him a lot but never offered.
bottom line is you have no idea and neither do i.
If you're saying none of us knows exactly went on in private discussions, I guess you're right. And so maybe we should just shut down message boards since we'll never know the truth. When we hired morehead everyone in the country thought it was a good hire. Hiring coaches is hard.

I tend to believe Matt Ruhle taking the Panthers job saved us from the Joe Judge era.

Giants owner says Joe Judge hiring got done quickly because of pressure from Mississippi State
The Giants had to act fast if they wanted to hire Judgewww.cbssports.com
You are really dumb if you think John Cohen is the only person who examined slojo in depth.Only one person in the country examined his record in depth and interviewed him extensively. John Cohen. It was his damn job to find the cracks & flaws in his resume that are obvious to all of us in hindsight.
It’s entirely possible Joe Judge told John Mara that. Also entirely possible Joe used that as negotiation as he should have.If you're saying none of us knows exactly went on in private discussions, I guess you're right. And so maybe we should just shut down message boards since we'll never know the truth.
But Judge apparently told John Mara that he not only had an offer, but also was under pressure to make a quick decision.
Maybe Judge is just an incredibly smooth negotiator. I tend to believe Matt Ruhle taking the Panthers job saved us from the Joe Judge era.

Worse than Leach? Yes, it would have been much worse. So bad that we would probably be complaining that Cohen was dumb for firing Moorhead.could it really have been much worse that what we got?
Oh ok. I get what you’re saying now. I thought you meant coaches needed to be out pounding the pavement begging for NIL funds from current/potential boosters. I feel like in an age where athletic departments have literal general managers like a pro team and booster networks dedicated to raising and distributing money, the coach needs to be focused on coaching and not the money side.I meant that the coaching hires, and subsequent successful football........would take care of fundraising. I can see where that sounded confusing.
If this is really really legit, and we spend anywhere close to $30M, then there’s no way we shouldn’t finish north of .500.I struggle to put this on the free board but I will. Heres a picture if you will. When Lebby was hired we talked to a lot of people about the job the first question was what was our NIL plan and amount we had on hand. It was close to 6-8MM. Just absolutely embarrassing. Selmon and Charlie had to work their asses off to get to that level. We were turned down by not only sitting HCs but also some coordinators as well. In fact we had to over pay some assistants just to take the job here due to our lack of NIL funding.
There’s was a significant reason why that first portal class was ****.
Fast forward to 24/25 portal season we were in a much better position with NIL the tune of 15-17MM. Still not where we needed to be but better. The portal class last year had us competing but we still lacked the true war daddies on the line. But the evals were pretty solid and at least got us in the competitive position
This year we are going to be north of 30MM with NIl and should put us in a position to go out and get a roster that can compete with the other SEC schools and beyond at a higher level. Still up to our coaches to close the deal but we will be in the upper half of the conference in NIl funding
We still need everyone to lock in and pull same directions and give and give
