I'm betting more than 11 people would've shown up at the NO airport.

Colts fans are idiots.

The Colts have been winners for the last 11 seasons. It just isn't exciting for them. If the Saints would have won a Superbowl in the past few years and been a playoff team for the past decade, I bet no more than a 100 fans would have shown up after a Super Bowl loss.

It's kind of like how we are finding fault with our basketball team who is 16-7. 12 years ago - we would have killed for that record. Fans get complacent - it happens.

11?

I don't care how complacent you get, that is embarrassing. I would figure at least a couple thousand would come out.

It's simply the fact that they think they should win the Super Bowl every year so now that they didn't they could care less. Got to love complacency.

Starkville, Tupelo, Columbus, and West Point have 95,510 (per city data) people.....

in the Meadowlands?? I'd be willing to bet it was a heck of a lot more than 11. That's a better comparison. And for the record, this IS only the second time the city of Indianapolis has participated in a Super Bowl. Its not like they are the New York Yankees or even the Pittsburgh Steelers for crying out loud.

If you want a true feel for what "Eleven snowbound fans" really looks like.

A few fans brave cold to welcome Colts (same article, different photos)

(Nothing says "Colts fan" like pasty midwesterners sporting jerseys. Watch a home game sometime. The % is off the charts even by NFL standards)

And yes, the weather in the midwest has sucked the past few days.

for us back in 1996. Now, it's not. Just like going to the playoffs is normal for Indy fans.

is not JUST making the playoffs and they've only been to the big game once before. The Colts are still AFC champions after all. Look, nobody would expect any major celebration after losing the SB but anything 100 people or less to show support for a team in a major city is WEAK. With a pro team the bulk of the fans are within a one hour driving radius where with a school like MSU the bulk of the fans are outside a one hour driving radius.

..which is the main reason I though the Saints would beat the Colts. No team in the NFL wanted to win the superbowl worse than the Saints. The Saints wanted it for themselves. The Saints wanted it for their city. According to Drew Brees, a lot of American wanted the Saints to win it. So the Saints had all the moral and emotional motivation that any team could ever possibly have.

I think there is not a team in the league that the Saints wouldn't have beaten in the Superbowl.
