From a partisan article. I'll take the Starkville jab. I'll agree the pieces aren't in place yet, but "...the Dan Mullen hire was an odd one"? I thought it was an unbelievable hire. What is odd about giving the top offensive coordinator in the country from a team that just won a national championship a head coaching gig in the best conference in the country? I guess this tool thinks Mullen was too good for poor little ole Mississippi State. Our time is coming in all of the big three sports.

he writes for the Gainesville paper. Wonder if he's ever driven through the Land of Mullets and Jorts known as northern Florida? That place makes Starkville look like Manhattan. And Gainesville is highly overrated. I felt like I was in "Roadhouse" or had been time warped back to 1988.

It's obvious to me that we made a hire that has people taking notice. When they start throwing the Starkville jabs out or hating on the coach, it means they are nervous about it. You never saw folks taking jabs like that at the Walrus.

I read that and was wondering the same thing. I don't see what's so odd about it. So, I suppose it must've been odd when Mark Richt was an OC and landed a HC job, or when Urban Meyer went from teaching WR's to a HC position at Bowling Green, etc. etc....

Sick of this "the facilities are below average" myth. Besides the aesthetics look of the stadium and actual size...what is so lacking?
Maybe the locker rooms at the field are a little small I'm guessing due to them being squeezed into the Seal Club? I don't know.
But the practice fields will be getting revamped come august, the Football has a new IPF thats shared with Baseball, Newer weightroom and locker rooms..
The new Academic center that is on par with any other in the Nation...

What's so damn lacking??

"You never saw folks taking jabs like that at the Walrus"

5 years of 1930's style offense while being ranked 100+ and people were still saying he was doing a good job and needed more time.

with 40,000 plus students then you are the cream of the crop, everything else is the *****. I'm calling ******** on that crap. I've been to Gainesville and and guess what, it's just a big stadium, no gold lined walls or valet service and no man servants to wipe your *** in the stalls. Now, if asshats in the stands wins championships then Florida has them in bucket loads. Enough with the "facilities win ball games" manta. Population, tradition, talent and perception win games. State sometimes has one of the four. Under Jackie, we had two. We need to consistently be at the 2 level in order to realize the three. Population we will never have unless you combine the Big 3 into one school.

1 - State was stupid to hire a coach that will take a few to get his feet wet.

or

2 - Mullen was stupid to come to Mississippi State.

amongst the Gator faithful that Dan Mullen sucked as an Offensive Coordinator. I think this guy buys into that theory so it would be #1 on your list. Like "Mullen sucks, why would anyone want to hire him?"

And maybe the locker rooms, I suspect he's going on convientional wisdom which says MSU's facilities sucked 10 years ago, so they must suck today.

the press box does suck...but whenever the 100 and 200 level renovations are done I'm sure it will be ripped and major revamped since its right in the middle of it all.

What I was trying to say, though not effectively, was that if you have to accept it was a good hire for us, then he must think Mullen made a bad decision.

The point that a lot of Gators thought Mullen was a bad coordinator is a good one though. Just imagine getting tired of seeing the same Percy Harvin counter play go for 20 yards over-and-over. Spoiled <17>ers.

Listening to Florida fans complain about how much Dan Mullen's offense sucked it like watching some of the celebs married to fine supermodel quality women who end up banging some chick who looks like an extra from Dawn of the Dead. We're tired of hearing your complaining. Now if you'll excuse me, I've got a pre-op appointment for my wang reduction surgery. It ain't easy being big.
