"Michigan is in for a rude welcome in the Gator Bowl.....MSU is more
phsyical on every level than Michigan even punter and kicker....put it
like this if Cam Newton was on the MSU team they would be playing for
the NC and would be the fav to win it....they have a much better D than
Auburn and just as good a OL....Michigan better find some heart fast or
this game will get ugly fast...that's how physical this MSU team is"

We had a really tough road schedule and I think that we would have lost at least one. Look at Auburn and Alabama. Alabama had the tough games at home last year and Auburn had the tough ones at home this year.

Exactly 2 years ago, we had just been beaten 45-0 by Mississippi. Think about that, and this statement from Herbie. Amazing.

We're about to go play Michigan. In a New Year's Day bowl. And we're not completely thrilled because we thought we were going somewhere better. Amazing.

And he's saying this now. After we didn't get Cam Newton, probably the best college football player in 2 decades. After we lost our starting tight end. After we lost our 2 best receivers. He's saying that we physically outmatch Michigan. Amazing.

Thanks, Dan.

You almost have to have a preseason Top 25 to have any chance at top level BCS bowls. I can see us entering around the same as where we finish this year. I think we break Top 20 with a win against Michigan. I can see us around 19-24 preseason next year. 9-3 is realistically possible.

This sort of comment says it all about what a change in mentality will do. And it has to come from both the coaches and the administration. Stricklin and Mullen have built a solid program already and are working on a monster. To echo what's already been said here... Mullen has taken Croom's recruits and in two years has them in a New Year's Day bowl against Michigan and we are FAVORED to win.

Let that sink in for a minute.

If we win the bowl game, we finish at 9-4 and probably around # 18 in the final poll, depending on other bowl games of course. With so many startersreturning, we should begin the season next year in the top 20 and be ranked in the teens after we whip Memphis to start the season. Then we will travel to the Plains to face an Auburn teamthat loses 24 seniors off this year's team in addition toCam and probablyNick Fairley also.

When compared to Michigan's D, yeah, we're pretty damn physical. But compared to the rest of the conference, we're soft as hell.

How bad is Michigan's D to be thought of as painfully soft compared to state? Aren't they like #109 in total D? Hey, Michigan, that SUUUUUUUUX.

it won't be because they overlooked MSU. Not the way the ESPN people have been talking about this game. I would never have imagined that MSU would getdamn near ALL the air time concerningthe Gator Bowl- especially against Michigan (even a down Michigan).Michigan fans musthave been pissed last nightafter watching the Bowl selection show and realizing the whole GatorBowl segment was about Mississippi State University.

"State is a quarterback away from playing for the National Championship."

Too bad Cecil Newton didn't know that.

I really can't wait to see what our defense looks like with an entire month of practice and scheming

There are 69 other teams thinking the exact same thing.

/just saying.
