we we will be a 5-7 win team(probably 5-6) most years. With the division we are in we have no chance unless we start paying players what other top tier schools pay players. I have accepted this fact, most of my State friends have not and State football continues to give them fits and add undue stress to their life.

...MSU has always had such a great relationship with the NCAA.

I'm sure if MSU starts to pay players, nobody from Oxford or Hattiesburg will squeal. Best of all, the NCAA will treat MSU like Auburn & sweep it all under the rug.

I am not saying it is a good idea, I am just pointing out that we will never get elite talent and compete consistently without doing it. The last stretch of success State had was the Sherrill years, in which we did pay players.

Getting caught paying them isn't. It's really easy to do and have plausible deniability. The only times schools get busted is when there is a paper trail left.
