Jail time or expulsion?

Hahaha!! What a complete nut you are. This is priceless. Do do politicize everything. Now, go calm down and take a nap.
How could you possibly know whether any apology is sincere or not? You have no idea what an apology is. It's not in your vocabulary and it definitely isn't something you would think of putting into practice. No MC63, I am not turning over a new leaf. Sorry to disappoint you. If you really think I am going over to the dark side with you, you are out of your mind. But we already established the fact you are out of your mind, long ago.[/QUOT
Your sad little apology is way too late, way too little, and way too insincere.
And that last line explains you better than any line out there.Trying to cover your butt by saying that your opponent is making something "political" is as weak as you can get. It is the last refuge of a weakling. Claiming you gave me a "beat down" when nothing like that ever occurred is simply another in your long string of lies. Yes, you ranted and raved ... but, as Macbeth said, "a tale told by an idiot, full of sound and fury, signifying nothing."
I thought the same, some big differences. However when the crime is child rape, do you need to look that far for enough disgusting similarities? My first thought was that their were some similarities, but significant differences. On second thought, from what I have read the parents at LZ are in denial, and to this day many PS fans are in denial as to who knew what when.
You really shouldn't. The more people who excuse this, the more they should be shamed.Anyhoo, I am going to bite my tongue...
No, I shouldn't, but with respect to Tim I bite my tongue. You really shouldn't. The more people who excuse this, the more they should be shamed.
I am a past Lake Zurich community member and former high school football team member. First, I am obviously ashamed and disgusted by what encountered this year. No child should ever feel like they are in an unsafe situation when they go to school or participate in a sport. That being said, as a professional in the child development field, the "solution" being suggested by many of you of just shutting down the football program or cancelling next season is so wrong. There are 1000s of youth and underclassmen in that community that turn to football for growth and development as a person. As a lot of us who played the sport know football was a main, if not the biggest factor, in shaping us into the men we are today. To abandon these new children, as well as possibly even some of the hazed children, who have done nothing wrong, and decided to make football an avenue of their growth is simply the incorrect choice. These children need to be led immediately into the correct direction and continue to have football as part of who they are. That is why the correct solution is what I will detail below.
Let me first start off by saying that these decisions are based on the fact that there has not been a hazing "tradition" for 20 years in LZ. I was a member of the football team under the Bryan Stortz regime. He, and his assistant coaches, were all great men who took their jobs of making the children they coached into great young men very seriously. We were truly a football family all 4 years I was there and to even suggest that there was this horrid culture created then is downright ignorant and offensive to all past LZ football members. The Lake Zurich community is not filled with hazing culture like many of the articles written have suggested. These egregious acts of hazing from the reliable articles I have read and from what I have heard from reliable sources are isolated to this year and this year only.
Back to the solution: obviously the first step is to hold all people needed accountable. This has been taken care of pretty much by the "resignations". District 95 entrusted the principal who entrusted the AD who entrusted the Head Coach to provide a safe program for all participants. Because they did not then all should be punished and let go, like they have been. Also the Dean who ignored the first incident of the year should have been and was fired. In regard to player discipline, contrary to belief the school has done something about this from what I have heard, what it was I do not know. The next step will be to hire an elite principal, AD, and head coach who all have prior successful experience. They all need to be able to help the school turn the corner from this seasons acts and begin to lead the new group of children back down the right path. These hires, combined with the educational programs the district and the lawsuit are both setting up, will work together to rebuild the character of the school.
And that last line explains you better than any line out there.
And the fact is, you got your *** whipped in that argument, and if we were still arguing that point you'd still be getting your *** whipped. No "claims made" assertion. Fact! Deal with it.
You are like the kid on the playground who gets his *** kicked by everyone but still keeps coming back for more. You are a true glutton for punishment.
*** whipping? You couldn't whip your own *** ... with a mirror and an extension cord.
Sorry, but the character of your school has a stench that will not wash away so easily.
Again, the great LZ Blue wall continues. Let's just sweep it under the rug that there are sexual predators at Lake Zurich. Their punishment is that they have to take an online test on hazing and do some community service. And their reward for being such fine upstanding citizens is that they get to play football next year.
Sir, you have a problem in your community. And the first step to solving a problem is to admit you have one.
To call them sexual predators is perhaps a stretch. I also believe this kind of thing goes on a lot more than people here want to believe.
Team leaders making kids blow each other is something that you can imagine happening elsewhere thus they should not blow up the program?I also believe this kind of thing goes on a lot more than people here want to believe.
No, it doesn't.To call them sexual predators is perhaps a stretch. I also believe this kind of thing goes on a lot more than people here want to believe.
What would you call kids that sexually abuse other kids? This isn't hazing this is criminal sexual assault in every possible definition. Sorry if that hurts your delicate sensibilities.
No, it doesn't.
So now you are deflecting forced sexual assualts on other schools, completely made up assaults at that.
This incident goes way beyond typical hazing, as others have pointed out. However, I'm not a fan of hazing in general. Never understood the concept of it. You want entry into our organization or be a part of our team? Then, allow us to torment and humiliate you. Sorry, not my cup of tea. Never allowed myself to be hazed, nor did I ever haze anyone. I would encourage kids to take a similar stance. Be an independent thinker. Don't follow the crowd, even if it's "tradition". Learn the value of non-conformity and say no to hazing. Again, I realize this situation goes well beyond "normal" hazing activities, but it did grow out of the hazing culture that exists in many high school and college environments.
It's called kids being stupid and they will learn a very hard lesson.
So jacking kids off to help determine team captains and sexually violating kids is "kids being stupid?"
I've been involved in covering this case since November when it was uncovered. Through the FOIA we also uncovered that incidents of physical abuse and hazing were known by the school district and admitted as such going back to last year.
If I asked you if you knew about Penn State 20 years ago what would you have said?
Thanks for supporting child sexual assault - be proud
I am just telling you, when this goes to court, it will not be treated as a criminal sexual case, rather a hazing case. You want to think of them as sexual predators, they will never be classified as such by the state.

We are completely on the same page. I am beginning to think BBCH77 has some serious issues being supportive of these sick kids. I really
think some of the kids performing those devious sick acts deserve jail time. LZ Football should be completely banished. They had their chance and they failed miserably. The school doesn't deserve to have the privilege of have a program.

Actually you are so very wrong. The initial case is a civil suit where hazing and Criminal sexual assault will both be listed in the lawsuit. And criminal charges are being prepared against teachers, administrators and kids.
Oh and one other thing, the kids who were abused are still being verbally abused and harassed every day at the school. Is that ok in your world since it happens everywhere
Stay tuned my rape supporting sicko, this story is far from over.
And once the criminal charges are filed - in the suit, several will have to file as child sexual offenders. Like I said more to come this is far far from over.
But hey if this happens everywhere I'm glad your ok with it.
So because you think it goes on more than we know you act like it's okay? This wasn't a stretch these kids involved need help/therapy. Really I believe jail time. I am going to leave you with this thought.
If it were your kid being hazed and forced to do oral and shoving broomstick up theirs butt, what would you do? BBCH77 you need to wake up.

My only point was that calling them sexual predators is jumping to conclusions, not condoning what they did at all. Good god man!!
In the cases I have seen, it's tried as a hazing crime, not as a sexual crime. Without getting too detailed, it isn't an arousal act, rather a criminal physical act and will be punished more like a fight.

Totally agree. I think often times the culture of wanting to be involved with winning trumps all else. Even common sense. I've asked myself hundreds of times throughout this ordeal what could possibly compel a person to think that this is even remotely ok? Have a hard time comprehending that.
While I don't agree with most of what BBCHS77 is saying his point that lesser forms of sexual hazing are going on in many locker rooms is pretty spot on. Kids getting pissed on, teabagged, swirlied and ridiculed is nothing that was invented in LZ although they have taken it to an unheard of level.
When I was playing college football and I would hear stories from high school lockers room I would think thank god i didn't go to that school.
Maybe I'm very old and very uninformed which both likely are true, but I can't see how hazing helps build a team or bring a team closer together.
If you wanna call what happened at lake Zurich hazing then ask yourself how hazing of any kind helps bond a team closer.
To me it's an excuse for power hungry kids to pick on kids that can't defend themselves. That sort of thing will catch up with these types of kids the older hey get.
How cool will they look when they try and bully someone in college or the real world?
This won't and should never be tried or treated like a fight. I was in and seen plenty of physical fights growing up and not once did anything resemble what happened in LZ. Kids that fight don't perform
sex acts on the other. Let's get this straight. I call them sexual predators and you would to if it was being done to your kid.
Certainly, hazing like this does not lead to good things. If true, these allegations are disgusting, repulsive and very sad.
However, I stand by the position I took a month or so ago when this was the topic of an earlier thread. At that time, I said that there's a difference between clean and light-hearted team building exercises that make kids step out of their comfort zones and hazing that involves bullying and dangerous/abhorrent/deviant behavior. I still think there should be room for the former within high school football programs.
Ask someone in the mental health industry if they would automatically call these kids sexual predators, that was my only point guys. You can call them a lot of things here, but by definition sexual predator is not one of them..
Let's see they threaten another force them to perform sex acts and force bodily harm on the victim. That sounds like a sexual rapist or predator in my book. Keep protecting these sickos. Answer my question if your kid was the victim would u feel the same?
Whether it's my kid or not, it's not going to change the clinical name of the accused. And where have I protected them? LOL
So you side stepped my question again.
It's called kids being stupid and they will learn a very hard lesson.
