The good thing about this game is I realize how bad we are

I see no possibility of us making a regional. At least I wont stress over every game on the weekend now. We are not that close either except pitching wise. A 2 out hit doesn't happen for this team yet we comsistently give up 2 out hits/scores. Football season hurry!

we just don't put the bat flush on the ball even when the opposing pitchers leave it squarely in the hittable part of the strike zone. We have to depend way too much on walks, hit batsmen and errors by the opposing team to score runs.

The hitting is basically due to youth. I know we're all sick of hearing it, but it's the truth. Ole Miss was young last year and sat out the postseason too. 4 juniors for us on the field tonight. If you count Brownlee's subbing in late, we have exactly 5 upperclassmen that played in that game (Pollo, Frost, Slauter, Porter, Brownlee).<div>
</div><div>Remember too that Nick Flair, probably the most talented guy on the team outside Norris, returns from injury next season.</div>

...this board can trot out all the standard rationalizations about "youth" & "wait 'til next year."

But this baseball program, to the casual observer, is tanking.

What gets me is MSU fans who post here went throught the "wait until next year" ******** with their grandfathers, then their fathers. Yet as history bears witness, if you are a MSU fan, next year never arrives.

But I realize many of you have a bunch of money invested in this mess, so I'm not going to be over critical of your standard rationalizations.
