Dude you are an absolute idiot. Selmon has done more in his 23 months as AD than the previous two ADs combined. I along with others can’t figure out how anyone has a negative view of what he has done. Cohen is on the verge is getting fired at AU and your over here wishing him back. And another thing. Selmon has not been shopping for a new gig. Those rumors were started by folks who were let go from the AD.. These are the same one saying we have to do more with less and they believed in the same po ol mentality
So STFU and open your pocket book up and start supporting this administration or find you another team to support. You are the worse poster on this board.
Selmon has had a good year. Good enough that I think he’s an easy choice for OU to hire, and good enough that I would be disappointed to lose him. I wouldn’t have said that a year ago.
I think he’s signed an extension since the OU gig came open, but you never really know.

After firing a first time head coach that hired an inexperienced coordinator on the opposite side of the ball, he hired a first time head coach without a plan for getting a experienced assistants, particularly on the opposite side of the ball. That was really bad. It looked like he basically put zero thought into the process that resulted in Arnett or what could have been done to make the Arnett hire less bad.

Since then, he's hired O'Conner and now the defensive staff, through some combination of the addition of two very experienced and qualified analysts, growth by Hutzler, and talent improvement, is looking pretty good. It does raise the question of whether we could have had people at least lining up correctly on defense last year if Hutzler had had some experienced assistants, but water under the bridge at this point. So he looks much better now than at this point last year, but the most visible stuff looked pretty damn bad last year.

I think this is a fair take. Year 3 of Selmon has been his best by far. The first two years were kinda iffy.

And honestly, let's wait till the end of the season to crow about how much better we really are. Tennessee and Arizona St. both looked good, but last Saturday was really really bad. And UT and ASU were both at home.

Well, we lost by 14 to Toledo at home last year.
We lost by 23 to Arkansas at home.
We lost by 19 to Missouri at home.
We lost by 17 to Florida at home.
Our highlight at home was probably only losing by 10 to A&M?

On the road our highlight of the season was either a 7 point loss to ASU or a 10 pt loss to UGA, with a 12 point loss to Ole Miss being an honorable mention.

I'm not saying we're good by any means. But prior to the injuries, we were a very respectable team. That is so much above my expectations I'm not too upset by how bad we are now that we've had a couple of OL injuries.

If I were going to be critical, it would be that we have a team with an offensive head coach where our offense is clearly the weakness this year. That doesn't bother me too much though. That describes several mullen and Leach teams. Hopefully we show enough this year we can get some offensive players next year and find out how Lebby can do with decent talent.

I don’t think it can be stressed enough just how bad we were last year. This can end up being a bad team and still be much improved over last year. Our best win was 2-10 UMass and we didn’t play any SEC team on our schedule within single digits.

A&M smoked us but it was a current Top 5 team on the road, and it was also a one possession game until near the end of the 3rd quarter.
