(The judge) wrote that words can have multiple meanings, using the example of "buffalo wing," which he said "refers to the type of sauce on the wing, rather than indicating it is made of buffalo meat."
Case closed right there!

I do like reading rulings that choose to add dumb puns and jokes, when the case is so very unserious to begin with.
Seeking monetary damages is insane.
Good that this lawsuit was dismissed.

Yup. Boneless wings are chicken nuggets.
You say that like it's a bad thing.

I prefer boneless wings, because they are breast meat, the very reason the plaintiff brought the lawsuit. They are usually cheaper, too, because wings are now more expensive than breasts in the commodities market

But if the wings are baked or air-fried, I'll take the traditional wings.

boneless wings are considered wings under the law. Everyone can now put their minds at rest.

Later, in his opinion, Tharp stated that "boneless wings" is a common term that has been in use for over two decades and is familiar to customers.

Buffalo Wild Wings likewise said that a reasonable consumer would not be misled by the term "boneless wings" and that "context clues make it clear that the product cannot be made of wing meat," the opinion says.

Seems like they've been around a lot longer than that.

That's like comparing steak to steak fingers.

The fact that it took over 3 years to determine if a boneless wing was breast meat or wing is a disgrace to the US legal system. No wonder prisoners are sitting in jails rotting, we gotta decide the anatomy of a damn chicken first!

Edited to say dry chewy no flavor breast meat is gross anyway, stick with the regular wings..........

Aimen Halim needs to be taken out back and beat with a bat. This is the most frivolous lawsuit in the history of frivolous lawsuits.

Well, 51 years is over two decades.

FYI, one bar claims that buffalo wings were invented in 1964, another in 1961.

"BONELESS wings". BWW says it has been using the term since 2003. They became popular everywhere after the 2008 economic meltdown when wing meat first became more expensive than breast meat.

- this wasn't being litigated for 3 years. The case was filed and sat until it was time to respond...at which time a judge dismissed it.
More qualified judges could help reduce case backlog and make the system less of a disgrace.

- this case being in civil court is separate from prisoners sitting in jail rotting since that is criminal court.

Hope this is read with no emotion or judgment since that is how it was typed.

Looks like boneless wing was first used in the mid 80s.

"Milk" no longer has to be milk and "wings" don't have to be wings. I know this is a goofy story but having things be labeled properly is an important layer of consumer protection.
