...The "proud of our heritage" Southern aristocracy send their spoiled brats to Ole Miss for obvious reasons.

But, much to Mummy's & Father's chagrin, ever so often one of the little brats will forget restraint & begins to drop N bombs in front of a video camera.

I get how how the Southern aristocracy desires to send their sheltered, mean-spirited little brats to Ole Miss.

But please, for the sake of us commoners who are forced to share this state with you, teach your kids to conceal their racism in public.

for future reference, an easy way to take a You tube video is to find the video, then change the URL to read kickyoutube.com/whatever was behind the slashes.

It allows you to download in a variety of formats, including GIF, which allows you to do those crazy LSUfreek videofarks.

because State, or any other school for that matter, doesn't have any racists or bigots.

The difference is that one of ours is a @%$$#!* dipshit that makes his feelings known to the public.

..my home state.

An Ole Miss brat drops the N bomb in front of a video, that affects me personally.

Lastly, the next time you try to provide a false equivalence, try not sourcing New York City's version of the National Enquirer.

And you probably didn't even mean it. But, I feel obligated to bring up the point.

Ole Miss doesn't have any more share of affluent alumni or parents than MSU does. Now, I do believe they enjoy perpetuating that misconception. And I do believe they enjoy wearing that false image on their sleeve. Now, perhaps you are suggesting that our students and our almuni are a little more down to earth, regardless of their affluence, I would tend to agree with that. There are plenty of people that would be considered Southern Arristocrats that send their kids to MSU. But, it isn't part of our personae. And that, I like.

is that it is not the media or any other outlet painting an unfair picture of racism and bigotry on the UM campus. The students are doing all that leg work. I just don't understand how their student body can think of this whole mess as a 'tradition' worth keeping and losing other traditions over.

I would think that a simple rule of thumb would be 'If our rivals think we should keep doing this, we should probably stop'

And if that doesn't work then maybe this one could be a backup: "If the Klan agrees, we should change our stance"

...talking about a ****** false equivalence.

Of course there are racists on the Miss. State campus.

Since there are human beings on the MSU campus, then there are racists on the MSU campus.

But white supremacists are not organizing to champion any MSU causes.

And (at least so far) a MSU brat has not been caught dropping the N bomb on video.

As of late, Ole Miss is an embarrassment to the state of Mississippi. That's where MSU & OM part ways.

Bull ****.

There are fraternity guys driving $60K vehicles in Starkville. In Oxford there are parking lots full of them. Sorority girls throw down $200 for a dress in a couple of places in Starkville. In Oxford they can't choose which store they're going into next. Oh, and check out the flight logs for Clegg Field on game weekends in Oxford. There's a reason that bastard runway is long enough to land the space shuttle.

I love/hate MSU as much as anybody, but let's call a spade a spade.

And frugality does not signal poverty.

In fact, back in the old days in Jackson, the joke among bankers was that they got their deposits in South Jackson and they loaned it out in North Jackson.

"wear it on their sleeve" was not an unimportant part of my assertion. With the exception of one or two VERY LARGE donations, our foundations and endowments keep up pretty well with Ole Miss, just as an example of my point.

A YouTube video of some random racist ******* affects you personally, but a story about a piece of **** racist punching a white woman in New York is so different that you call it a false equivalence?

Good ol ronny. Inconvenient truths really bother you, don't they.

Archive it, *****.

... I've known people without money who tried to "fit in" @ Ole Miss.

It might come as a surprise to you, but it didn't work.

They transfered to MSU & suddenly felt right at home.

Ole Miss is a rich brat's paradise.

They rock the top clothes, top cars & most expensive tail.

If you don't think Ole Miss is all about a promenade of the elite, then you are ignorant of the dynamics of Mississippi aristocracy.

Some of those kid's parents are probably not nearly as wealthy as they appear to be. They just spoil their kids to make them "fit in." I know people who have lots of money, they just choose to spend it on different things, and not buy big houses and fancy cars for themselves and their kids. While I don't know their finances, I would bet they aren't in near as much debt as the people who insist on getting their kids a new beamer.

I drive a 2001 Civic with 200,000 miles on it, and I fit right in here. I've never considered transferring anywhere else.

There are certainly some people who like to pretend like they are aristocrats or something, but the average Ole Miss student is more like me than them.

but a story about a piece of **** racist punching a white woman in New York
Do you know how many times a minute a piece of **** racist punchs a white woman in New York?

I would speculate, about New York's five boroughs, this happens about 20 times a minute.

Meanwhile, the state with the horrible race history, you know, the state #50 in everything, has some little university ******* dropping N bombs on video.

So anytime you try to compare New York city to Mississippi when it comes to accentuated racist incidents, damn right I'm calling false equivalence.

I was confused about that whole equivalence thing. Now I understand. A piece of **** black racist punching a white woman over a racial argument is OK ... if it happens in New York.

Y'all get that, packers? Ronny wants you to know that you get a pass for overt racism, if you're a new yorker. Just don't let it happen in Mississippi.

[Do you not understand the abject idiocy of your argument, you stupid f'n imbecile? You are arguing that the ubiquity of overt racism in New York justifies ignoring it because it is commonplace, while this incident deserves heightened scrutiny, even though the public nature of it is unique].

Archive it.

First they get public backing of Richard Barrett, next day the Klan says it's coming to town, Now they have this gem from an upstanding Greek. What oh what will tomorrow bring? I hope this thing goes viral and they get the recognition they are due. Karma is a ***** isn't it? Earl should have told you this would happen when um was "volunteering" information in msu's investigation.

Pretension and conspicuous spending does not equal wealth.

Most of the kids at our school and theirs come from middle-class backgrounds and the levels of family income and wealth are roughly the same.

That the Lambda Chi's are a bunch of douchebag racists? You should say, he's at Ole Miss and he's greek, which is why he has a strong possibility of being a doucebag racist. The two greek systems aren't similar enough to even compare.
