The Look on Drew Barker's Face...

Would love for someone to be able to post a screen shot, but the look on Drew Barkers face after our incompetant coaching staff pulled him after outplaying Patrick Towles is one of the saddest things I have witnesses as a UK Football fan.

This kid came in and out played Towles 10 to 1 and how is he rewarded? He is yanked even when he was making plays to let Towles screw up again. Even if Barker starts the last two games and plays every down I wouldn't blame him if he gave Stoops the middle finger at the end of the year and transfered.

Why is anyone on this board encouraging Barker to transfer? WTF is wrong with you? Are you so miserable that you want all the kids to transfer so we can play Centre College every Saturday? I agree Stoops made a poor decision to bring Towles back in. But, so what? Barker should transfer? The illogic on this board is astounding sometimes. How about start the kid and coach him up? Stoops knew he desperately needed to win this game. He thought Towles, after sitting, might have screwed his head on straight. We did score our TD shortly thereafter (no help from Towles, admittedly). Sadly, PT reverted to form and never did put together much of a drive after that one.

But, telling Barker to transfer is just stupid. He's gonna start. Think him transferring makes UK better in football? I've given up on the team this year but I don't want them to sink back to 2-10 as a program. Again, WTF is wrong with you people?

First...no one said he should transfer. I for one hope he doesn't because that means we are stuck with Towles again next year. I said I "wouldn't blame him" IF he transfered. He has not been given a fair shot when he was responsible for brining in and majority recruiting/keeping the class he was in.

Not sure what to make of Barker. First and foremost, the idea of the qb being in a bar in the first place; then getting into an altercation.....Makes me wonder if that stuck in Stoops' gullet... What kind of character Barker is, etc...

30 years ago, I knew a coach that had a pretty decent team, at least so it appeared going into the season. His qb was decent but was the kind of kid that was a smart mouth; never serious when he should have been; joined in when other players were screwing around in stead of leading them otherwise. The coach and the qb never seemed to get on the same page. Following the last game, the coach and the kid had words. Kid was a jerk. Remember the coach saying he wished he'd benched the kid and played the back-up.

Just trying to figure out what's going on.

I don't disagree with what you're saying, but I've got news for you. We don't have very far to go to "sink" back to a 2-10 program. In fact, if we didn't have a cupcake schedule this season, we would be a 2-10 team.

How many pick 6's did Pat give up? Barker sucks, get over it

This is stupid. Maybe we should see Barker play a full game before we decide he sucks. He wasn't great after that TD but he still didn't play long enough to know anything.

Any Kentucky fan putting it in print that this kid should transfer is not a fan of Kentucky. This kid has the talent and is a real leader. Barker is our future and if you would like to see wins in the future, you won't be rooting for the kid to transfer. It was a bad call to take the kid out and put Patrick back in, but i hope Barker at least respects the fact these coaches are the most loyal to their guy than you will find in the nation. Drew's time is coming and it's real soon. Barker loves Kentucky and will be a legend when he leads our cats to bowl games. I'm sure the coaches know it was a mistake and we hope it won't happen again.

How many picks less pics did Towles throw? How many fails inside the five yard line did Barker have? How many games has Barker lost because he failed to lead his team?
How many of PT's passes were dropped? Are you going to blame PT for bad play calling? We may have won the game if Stoops hadn't buckled under the pressure to switch QB's.

Actually he had one. When you throw an interception in the end zone when your team is at the 2-yard line it's the same as a pick-6. Whether you cost your team 6 or give the other team 6, the math is still the same.

You are trying to defend the indefensible. Patrick is 4-12 in his last 16 starts. Two of those wins are against Lafayette and EKU. We should be able to start the water boy against those two teams and have enough to win. In his last five games he's thrown one -- that's right ONE -- TD. That's almost impossible, especially in an "Air Raid" offense.

Patrick only has more experience in throwing more interceptions than he throws touchdowns. Maybe that's why stoops put him back in?
I don't think barker should transfer. But it would not surprise me.
He's obviously the more accurate one. And I think to some degree. Just as good on his feet.
How's he going to get more experience. If he's never given real game opportunities?

I'm glad he looked pissed about it. I don't think I can watch Towels anymore. It seems like he has taken sacks on 3 Hail Mary's to win the game this year (I said 'I bet Towels takes a sack' right before the last play of the game happened), and that pretty much sums it up for me. He just doesn't have the winner gene, he won't even take the chance at the end of the game when it actually doesn't matter. Barker looked confident in his few throws even if a couple were off. I hope he gets Tom Brady pissed about this injustice and works his *** off to say eff everyone, and stays at Kentucky.

If Barker Sucks by 1 TD 1INT and going 5 for 8..... then Towles must be a flaming suck bag times 10. 0 TD 1 INT and 10 of 26

Play calling screwed Barker over so badly. After his INT, the staff had them just run the ball until 3rd down.

If Barker is inexperienced then who's F*ckducklings fault is it? Its Stoops. Barker could of had so much more playing time this year.

He is also responsible for a couple of other things that make me question his maturity. But I AM tired of seeing Patrick slide and come up short of the first down marker. Tonight he did it again and there wasn't anyone that would have stopped him from getting the first down. When a bowl game is on the line you just don't slide until at least you have the first down.

didn't realize that so looked it up to confirm. Indeed just 1 TD to 7 INT in the 5 straight losses. I've never been one to turn on Patrick and always felt we should trust the coaches in their decisions but damn those numbers are scary. I'm fine with Barker here on out if for nothing more than the zip on his throws.

I'm becoming more and more convinced that Stoops is a moron, unfortunately.

Only Dawson would make a 6'5, 240 pound QB, with over 300 yards rushing last year, slide against college DBs.

Towles finished 10-26 for 67 yards and one interception. Barker finished 5-8 for 60 yards, one touchdown and one interception. The TD in the 2nd half was mainly the RB's going to work. Not your boy.
Now tell me how good of a job your boy did that lead us to victory? How many TD's he throw?
