That said, I did vote for Hilary and I think Trump is power hungry opportunist, which doesn't automatically mean he'll do bad but the fact that he'll do anything to get and keep power may work out badly.
One thing for sure though, 25 years from now when the history books are written Trump's "Obama was born in Kenya" stuff is going to turn out very badly for Trump, who will be in the big gold plated casino in the sky by then anyway.

I suggest we wait and see what happens. We now have an Obama record of 8 years to compare to. Obama was a Keynesian. Trump is a supple sider. Let's see which economic model works best. Obama was a big government guy and regulator. Trump is the opposite. Obama, in my opinion, believed business was frequently an enemy. From his book "Dreams From My Father", Obama included a letter he wrote to his mother during his one and only private sector job at a law firm. He told her he felt like he was behind enemy lines. Very telling, at least for me.
Trump is obviously pro business, just the opposite.
Now we get to see which model works. I think Reagan already proved the supple side model is much better, but we get to try that experiment again.

Obama did not release his birth certificate (actually a copy) until 2011. He wanted this as an issue since he could have released it much earlier.
But frankly, I care far more about the well being of this country to care about this birther nonsense. We have Obama's record, both domestically and internationally. We can compare the two over the next 4-8 years.

Let me ask you a very, very simple question. What is more important to you? The birther issue or the health and well being of our country? I think the latter and will wait to make a judgement as to whether Obama or Trump was more effective. Will you do the same? Or is this birther issue the more important thing for you?
I think the opposite is true. In service of plausible deniability, the supporters of a particular candidate would purposely NOT let the candidate know they were starting a rumor about the other candidate. That way the candidate could honestly deny it and it couldn't possibly be traced back to the candidate.
That's beside the point though. It doesn't matter who started it. Continuing it that far after that fact is going to be a large, permanent mark on Trump's record and the only way he's going to erase it is if he builds a time machine. He played to the worst impulses of a lot of people about something he knew to be false. Try to change the focus if you like but it's going down in the history books whether you like it or not.
Every POTUS is judged by how they do in office. That's a separate issue. It remains to be seen how Trump does. You may not have liked Obama but I think history is going to judge him fairly well. If you recall the world economy wasn't far from collapse when he took over and that turned out pretty well.
PAX the only thing that matters to Trump's opponents is that he either is so discredited so as to render him unable to govern, or his removal from Office for whatever reason they can either create or allege.
Short of that...kill him.

You think the ACA is going to down as a big bad for Obama? Notice how now that the GOP is in charge of everything they're going to modify the ACA instead of ditch it. Whether the ACA fixed everything for good isn't what's going to go down, rather the fact that it was something that got the ball rolling is what will go down.
Op2 there is near unanimous consent (bi partisan) that the ACA is fatally flawed and cannot exist in its current configuration. It's a Turkey, and not even it's biggest proponents is arguing to just leave it alone and do nothing to rescue it, if not altogether dismantle it.
I agree with you we don't know yet what the Republicans will offer as a replacement. However I assure you in its current configuration, it will be repealed because it quite simply is an unmitigated disaster.
I suspect odds are if they decide to go to a market driven, patient centered alternative, it will be by default superior to this big Government blob of an excuse for a solution to low cost quality health care delivery services.
Historians are by and large libs, but Obama by almost any measure was a failure. His only monetary policy, the stimulus, did not work even according to liberal economists. He carried on Bush's TARP policy. Of course the Fed's QE programs and zero interest rates were the longest, boldest moves made by the Fed and created a huge stock market surge. It also created other asset bubbles that will at some time explode. The rich benefitted greatly. His GDP record was the worst since WWII. We came out of recession in June 2009, 5 months after his inauguration. We have ALWAYS come out of recession. In fact, history shows, the deeper the recession, the steeper the climb out of recession. In other words, the bigger the growth (GDP) after the recession ends. If he had done nothing, we likely perform better. His only other major domestic achievement is Obamacare, a job killing disaster.
Internationally, a disaster. He exited Iraq and created a vacuum filled by ISIS, whom he called the JV team. He drew the Syrian red line and then walked away. He helped to create millions of migrants destabilizing Europe. He ousted Gaddafi which lead to another vacuum that ISIS filled in Libya. Again, millions of migrants created. He negotiated the Iran deal giving them billions to fund terrorism and to try and recreate the Persian Empire. They are now guaranteed getting a nuke unless the U.S. and NATO/Israel stop it. Will initiate a destabilizing arms race in the Middle East. The Russian reset a disaster. Crimea now part of Russia. Same with Eastern Ukraine.
No, Obama has been a disaster and any non-biased historian will recognize it.

Elimination of fossil fuels to drive energy sources in exchange for renewable energy sources, massive funding of Public schools at the exclusion of Private choice or school vouchers, Same sex Marriage, and traditional Marriage being "re-classified", open borders among nation States, unlimited immigration, elimination of territorial claims in international waters, mandated Government controlled diets and reductions of Red meat in diets, removal of private property rights, massive gun controls or restrictions on the right to keep and bear arms, increasing of food stamp and housing subsidies, mandated use of appliances and other devices that do not produce CO2, mandatory restrictions on uses of Federal wildlife estuaries, restrictions on the rights of Religious people to practice Faith in the public square or in private businesses, limits on Freedoms of expression in the public square, limits on freedom of the press, limits on private acquisition of wealth, controls over the means of private manufacturing and production assets, restrictions on water usage, controls over expressions of art deemed "offensive", removal of White males from major positions of authority, immediate citizen reviews of any Police retention of any Black person who is "profiled", reorientation of Constitutional limits on Government, and removal of the Constitution as the Supreme Governing document of the Country along with the assassination of Trump or his immediate removal from office.

It's true though that I think people should have to have some kind or other of insurance because they already have de facto insurance in the sense that the rest of society will pay for them if they get sick so I think it's more efficient that they have actual insurance instead of de facto insurance.

4. I've never really thought about that. That topic is to toxic I try to avoid it. I don't really care one way or the other about that particular point.

I think the media more accurately talks about Trump than Trump talks about the media. Trump is playing a game, and very effectively I might add. One of Trump's greatest abilities is to get people, love him or hate him, to just REACT to what he says instead of stopping and considering that it might be intended to have a certain effect instead of being a literal expression of thoughts and ideas.
