Who's winning?
I'm going to wait a day or two to throw my winner out there (otherwise I really have no idea). I have loved Koepka all along but when I look at Bubba Watson LEADING the PGA in GIR this year, I can't see how he is not going to be near the top. I'm not a Bubba fan, so I probably can't bring myself to pick him, but GIR is arguably more important than putting at Augusta National. This week can thrust an unknown into the spotlight. It could be someone like Willett or Danny Lee. We will see.

Amazing that Lietzke, a left to right player, has the course record with Norman. Augusta is normally considered a right to left golf course.

Masters gets **** for their arrogance/etc as far as TV coverage and having "total control", but it's pretty bad *** that they've kept the prices like that. Ridiculous, really.

Props to them.

And a 4 day Masters Badge is $325 [laughing] Was $250 until last year...

...my namesake Poultry GOD Grandpa held one for 40+ years, but was apparently unable to pass it down via his will, they can only be willed to the Spouse, who did not exist at his death. I got all his gear and keepsakes, but damn, how sweet would that have been? :weary:

I *get* why Bubba is a favorite going into this week but outside of his two wins, he's been pretty mediocre at Augusta. Nothing better than a T20 in his other finishes so I'm not as high on him as others.

-Besides the obvious picks of Day, Rory, and Spieth, I really like Oosty in this one.

Oosthuizen seems to have a good personality and he definitely has the game. His only real success at Augusta however was when he lost to Watson in a playoff in 2012. Had a few MC's but has played fairly well there in the last two years. He is definitely in the mix. Second in two majors last year. T19 at Augusta. He would be a worthy champ.

Oosty has only made 3 cuts in 7 starts and average finish is 49th.

Bubba has made 7 cuts in 7 starts and average is 24th. That's not really mediocre. Considering he's one of 3 people in the field with more than 5 starts to make every cut.

-When do you submit entry for Masters badges?

-If you take out the big 6, give me Rosie.

-I'm not gambling on any player that doesn't have a Masters under their belt.

-Phil -> 21 made cuts in 23 starts. Average finish 16th. o_O

These points are well made about cuts. It seems the way to win a major, or especially multiple majors, is to put yourself in the position over and over. (Guess that is obvious logic) Sometimes you win, sometimes (like every time for Greg Norman at Augusta) you come up short.

This is from memory, so take it for what it's worth, but I don't think Oosthuizen has won another tournament on the PGA Tour besides the British Open. Not exactly something to disqual him but two wins on the PGA Tour and both being majors, not sure how much that has been done. That would take some research that I'm too lazy to do at this moment.

Outside of his 2 wins his average finish is 38th which is pretty mediocre. Really I'm just hater looking for every way possible to pick against him. Not saying Oosty has a better shot, just like the way he's playing as of late. Well rounded game and proven winner. Certainly not crazy to say he can win. I also envy his move, just picks the club up and puts it right back down, simple as simple can get.

Love the Spieth, Casey and DeChambeau pairing. Scott, Kisner, Koepka. Watson, Grace, Poulter!!! Wow. Willett and Garcia together. A tradition like no other!

DeChambeau is a wonderful character. That special on the golf channel was pretty enlightening on how just bright the guy is. Guess he names his clubs since they are all the same length.

This '86 documentary is fantastic.

I'd never noticed that Ben Wright said 'Yes Sir!' on Nicklaus's eagle on #15 before Lundquist did on #17. Wright's call WAS classic on 15 that day, 'The battle is drawing. There's life in the old bear yet'. And then later with Seve, 'That's destined for the WATER.....'.

My brain says Bubba or Rose. My gut says Haas or Willett. My heart says Mickelson or Fowler. My eyes from the prior weeks say Cabrera-Bello or Oousthuizen. Rose is the obvious pick and Stenson will contend. I'll go out on a limb and pick Danny Willett.
