First The Masters does a freaking fantastic job with their streaming coverage. PGA Tour Live is good, but Augusta is even beating them at the streaming game.

Man this course looks amazing in the fall. Looks like after the rain this morning the rest of the weekend will be top notch weather. Tropical Storm Eta has sucked all the moisture they were expecting to the South so the rest of the weekend is clear blue skies like today.

Tiger freaking Woods. Jack told one of the reporters he was crying during his champions dinner speech Tuesday. I truly think Augusta is his favorite place on Earth. Loved seeing him drop a -4 and it is totally out of left field given his form coming in. That said in 26 starts he has 22 top 20's, 19 top 10's, and of course 5 green jackets. Augusta suits his eye as they say.

This course brings the cream to the top like no other and it looks like this week is going to be the same from what I have seen thus far.

I love The Masters.

Kinda creepy to see Augusta National without fans.
You can see how contoured the course is much better though. Hate that they had too, but seeing it like this one time is pretty cool. I will admit though the bare lawn around 12's tee box does not look right.

Watching both of them play you would never think that DeChambeau would only be 2 strokes behind Tiger. Bryson was all over the place and seemed to be scrambling to recover on several holes. Tiger on the other hand was never in bad trouble but just seemed to not capitalize on opportunities to get birdies and eagles after setting himself up well. Still when he has a good opening round Tiger is usually tough to beat at Augusta.

Yeah I was thinking that earlier too. Definitely gives you a much better look at the course so it is kinda cool in that aspect.

The greens are way too soft. The rain ruined it.

I hope they dry out before Saturday...or this Masters will be zero fun.

I've been to PGA, US Open, and Masters.
Augusta is by far the one you need to attend.

And...as I have posted, Tuesday practice day is definitely the way to go.
...Doable (you can easily scalp Tues tickets on Washington Ave)
...Affordable (Tickets + food are cheap)
...Players are accessible and relaxed
...Watching the tournament on TV is

If the rain stays away with the sub air on the greens, they will get firmer and faster. So by late Saturday and into Sunday will be like putting across your hardwood floor. 😉

The my group thing Masters.com.has is awesome by the way. Pick as many players as you want and it just shoots you one shot after another by those players with the hole and shot listed below the player. It's like the Red Zone version of golf. They are also giving it away for free.

I think the sub air system will have them hard and fast by Sunday. My prediction is the leader after today is about -10, but the winner only gets to -15 or so. No more rain in the forecast based on my weather app.

I hear you...and you may be right. But the Fairways and areas around Greens are soft/muddy, which also makes the course play easier.

It is what it is. Weather happens. Usually the Masters leaderboard is mostly the elite. Lots of guys will be in contention on Sunday (I predict). I'll be watching!

Yeah those misses that runoff 20-30 yards and leave a flop shot off of a tight lie are definitely stroke adders. I think we get there though with no more rain in the forecast. Might start looking more normal this afternoon, and definitely will be with the leaders on the course tomorrow afternoon.

Dustin making a move. If he gets to the lead by the end of the second round... look out!

And hats off to Langer. At 63 and giving away so much distance but he’s hanging in there.

Granted it is only based on seeing him on TV but Langer seems so smug to me.

I was going to say Michelle Wie was doing a good job until she just said to figure out what the cut line will be what she does is take the current cut line, double it and cut it in half. Apparently math isn't her thing. I'm hoping she just misspoke because she did go to Stanford.

I have to admit that it amazes me the number of guys who consistently miss the fairway with their driver. I play with guys on my local course that may not hit as long as these guys but hit fairways a lot more constituently. The big difference for the pros are the irons and short game play.

I've never been but my parents and brother have. It blew my mind when I found out how cheap the food is. When we went to the PGA last time it was at Valhalla we got 4 sandwiches, 4 bags of chips, and 4 bottles of water and it cost us $80. I remember my mom calling me after they went and she was like "guess how much a pimento cheese sandwich is?" and I figured $20 or something. Nope it was $2.

My $6 lunch: Hot dog, Bag of chips, Cookie, Bottle of water

Rain surprised us. So I went to the Gift Shop and bought a legit golf umbrella with Masters logo for $30

The morning feature groups stink.
My only criticism of the Masters is their stingy approach to TV access.

In the 1960's + 70's, TV coverage (even on Sunday) only showed the Back Nine. I knew more about Butler Cabin than entire Front Nine.

I can't believe that just happened. Bryson got a lost ball because they couldn't find it in the rough. Now he's back at the tee hitting 3 when his ball was 30 yards from the green. Crazy.

Absolutely ridiculous that there wasn't a person there to see it land and mark it. I know it was plugged but still no excuse.

On TV you could see on water puddled on the ground.
Somebody should have been watching it.

Am I the only one that thinks Bryson is a bit of a jerk?! He whines when he doesn’t get a ruling he likes. He whines about a camera operator doing their job. Be kinda funny if he missed the cut after all the publicity and attention.

No you are not. He thinks the rules don’t apply to him. I hope he does miss the cut.

Bryson is definitely cocky and lacks people skills.
But he's no more of a Jerk than Tiger was in his HeyDay.

I bet everyone warms up to Bryson next time the Ryder Cup is played.
