he would be the best. I think Gus would want to get out of Auburn because I think it's only a matter of time before Chizek flames out there.

Cowher, Gruden or Shannahan are the glaringly obvious choices to lead the Tigers to eventual Big East dominance.

Terry Bowden is pushing hard for the job. No word on if Tommy is. If Mahlzahn will take the job, I think it is his for the taking.

And do it the right way. I'm sure he can round up the boys and bring a chompionship back to Memphrica.

I caught the tail end of the conversation, but the sports bar on 56 said Jackie was contacted.

Memphis may be the worst coaching graveyard in Division I football.

just on the short list...

Croom could come in a do it with character, run the West Coast offense and keep them in triple digit total offense rankings for 5 years, average like 12 points a game, and change to some homey the clown looking Croomiforms. Wow, that was a tough, tough 5 years to go through. Thanks LT?

If he can double his salary with a 5-year guaranteed contract, it might not be too bad a deal for him. And the worst coach in Clemson's history managed to keep that gig going for 9 years so how hard could it be for Nix to keep it going for more than 5?
