if the seeding went further down, RU is basically a 9. So not really a gigantic snub in the grand scheme of things

The women have gotten little respect in the polls too moving around from 13-15 all season.. I remember we even dropped one week after a win.

Any word on whether we can host the mens or womens opening round games with graduation occurring on Sunday at the stadium?

The women are playing at Stony Brook since they are unseeded but would imagine the men are playing early on Saturday but at Yurcak unfortunately

Yurcak. LMAO but I expected it and alluded to it in other threads. I knew there was no way Rutgers would logistically handle the graduation setup after a 230 PM game Sat. We'd be better off playing on the Battaglia turf field, like some of the rec and HS games. At least it's FieldTurf. Grass is a disappointment and disadvantage.

Lax only stadium needs to be green lit ASAP. If we lose to Harvard I'm going to blame playing on grass outside of our true home stadium and so will many others.

I kinda' feel like Notre Dame should be in. I know my Terps barely beat them.

Duke, no way. Their resume blows...

eta: This didn't stop me from being amused by those sad/angry men on the show...

Yurcak will be a fun atmosphere at least, but sucks the athletes don't get to play in their true home. I'm sure they won't let that affect them and they probably don't care anyway.

Hopefully they won't have trouble acclimating to natural grass. I think that's the main issue...

What us the capacity of Yurcak?

BTW Handley vs. Rall in the quarters? Holy ****.
5k. Kick soccer out of there. It was not their stadium to begin with.

Yurcak Field is named in honor of Ronald N. Yurcak, a 1965 All-American Rutgers lacrosse player who made a generous donation to the university. The facility, primarily used currently by Rutgers' men's and women's soccer programs, features a 120' x 75'' playing surface with Kentucky Bluegrass, and has capacity for 5,000 fans.

Apparently the team played on grass vs Lehigh at UVA last year so maybe they can adjust to it. I don't like the fact that they're playing on grass for the first time all season on it.

It’s fine. If the surface is as good as I’m told, the guys will have no issues playing on grass. We smoked Lehigh on grass last year and it was our only game on grass last year

Totally. Game has to be either Saturday or one of the final two Sunday time slots 5 or 7:30). 2:30 will not work..

You weren’t fine with it earlier today or yesterday.
Key word “I”.

I’m not on the team nor am I a coach. As I said, if they are cool with it than it doesn’t matter what I think. I’m good with it too. Is that easier for you to understand?

1) If you pack the bleachers and put a couple thousand people on the hill on the other side that’s a great turn out and an awesome atmosphere. We did it a couple times for soccer and it was nuts.

2) Who cares if it’s on grass instead of turf. Both teams have to play on grass instead of turf. It’s not ideal, I understand, but it effects both sides equally. If anything with somebody in the net like Kirst, slowing down balls bounced toward him, it’s probably a “plus” for us.

3) we don’t have to travel

4) We don’t have to face Maryland until the final

I honestly don’t see any issues here. GO RU!!!

The meltdown on lacrosse twitter awesome to watch. All the ACC fanboys crying about Harvard and the Ivy League - which was arguably the best league in lax top to bottom - getting 6 as a makeup to the students who got screwed by their admins during the pandemic. Now attacking the process and calling to expand the tournament when in fact they need to add a team to the league to have a championship. Maryland to the BIG might bite them 2x this year if they win it all.

While not ideal, I am glad to see the initial whining by some about having to play at Yurcak is coming to an end. No need for preconceived excuses for a poor performance, just go out and play to the best of your ability on the grass surface. To me the bigger issue (just for the fans) would be a game time that overlaps with the commencement ceremony.

It affects both teams equally, but grass produces quirky bounces sometimes.

Does this mean we have to stop complaining about the Baltimore mafia and ACC bias?

If you watched the selection show you saw the ACC bias. You can complain about Harvard getting in over Notre Dame, but Ohio St beat Notre Dame head to head so complaining about that is sour grapes. And Quint and Carc were working on a vineyard last night which is consistent with their attitude all year. If the same thing happens next year the committee bias can be revisited, but this may be the exception that proves the rule.
