I was against the hire , and not impressed the first season . Should have been canned year 2 . But after the Michigan win last year I thought for a brief moment the guy could make it here . Then reality set in .

I will say that I thought that after Indiana, MD, and UNC last year IF he could bring in a decent (top 35 or better) recruiting class, that he might be able to turn things around. Not championship level - but 7- 8 regular season wins and more competitive games against the top of the conference as we build depth. But he isnt, and his recruiting just isnt going to ever to be at the level needed for him to sustain success here.

As far back as coming from behind twice to beat WSU. The fact that the team seemed so resilient. Beating a good Navy team on the road after the heartbreak of PSU. Coming off the 3 blowouts to win 3 of 4 at the end. All this gave me a lot of hope.

When we had that killer class committed. Then that fell apart quickly in the most epic of epic fails.

However, I gave him chances, lots of chances, but any hope that he would ever turn things around end this season. Now Rutgers needs to move on.

When the class fell apart, it was never going to happen for him

Flood started hot his first year - winning his first 7 games. At that point I thought Flood might stick.

But he lost his final 3 games, including the 13-10 bowl game loss to VT. When he stuck with Nova that whole game I thought we could be in trouble with Flood at the helm going forward.

briefly interested at 7-0 his first year but that quickly went away and I was someone who was outraged he was hired from day one

I never believed him or believed in him. I always thought that he was just trying to be GS.

When we went down to Arkansas in 2012 and got a win in SEC land against a SEC whose back was against the wall for their season

After the QL Bowl and Lambert Trophy I thought we may have had a shot. If that 'thought' were represented by say a mosquito, then the past 3 months have killed that mosquito by dropping an atom bomb filled with DDT and Raid on it, and then running over the ashes with a convoy of steamrollers.
