The NCAA can go 17 itself

We should have just paid Cam and taken our NC.

Either we are the worlds worst cheaters or the NCAA has a serious vendetta and Slive isn't interested in helping out. Everybody is saying there is nothing there, but they keep pushing. There are so many blatant violations going on around the league and this is what they are spending their time on? The entire state of Alabama probably has their college football players in the pension system and the NCAA wants to spend time looking into Redmond's 10 year old Mustang. 17 them.

“We didn’t see anything dirty,” the coach, Brent Hill, said. “... I never witnessed anything, and neither did our kid.”

Did you even read the article? So what? They talked to some people. Not saying I don't agree with you... I hate the NCAA...

I have wondered how they don't stay on Alabama or LSU constantly. Everyone knows those programs break recruiting rules year in and year out. Cash payments and so on. I knew a girl that dated an Alabama recruit and she talked about the cash he would get on visits. I guess it's hard to track cash.

dude... bama's been on probation A LOT over the last 20 years... I think those 17ers have a satellite (sp) office in TTown...

Oh, and cash is the ONLY way to go... certainly not cars (esp. domestic ones)...

I have said this a bunch on this board that the SEC is fearful of Miss State or Ole Miss being on top. We just don't bring in the money that LSU and Alabama does. If we get hammered they are ok with that exspecially when things are starting to turn upwards. I will never forget them pulling the rug out from us when they changed the Transfer rule and not to forget the 50K fine for cowbells and the banned they had on them for 30 years. I don't think the NCAA really cares after watching them hammer OSU, USC and Penn state. They will go after anyone but the SEC does not care about MSU, Ole Miss, VAndy or KY football. We just don't bring the money to the table.

Yep. If you're paying in anything other than cash, you almost deserve what you get. Of course there is the Tee Martin exception. If the cashier's check comes from the WIFE of a booster, it's all OK.

We are the fall guy for the SEC. We must know our place and like it. Get good? Not possible the NCAA won't allow it and the SEC will not back us so the NCAA will leave the big boys alone.

That's the way all the sidewalk fans of other teams like to think of us. As needing to be shown our place. Fact is this isn't Fogelsong and LT anymore. I fully expect us to lawyer up and fight the NCAA and the SEC if they try to punish us for things minor in comparison to Miami. Has there been any sanctions against the U of Miami?

I agree completely.

The rest of teh SEC hates Dan. They know we are on the verge of huge things. The Bears are too stupid so they are going along with the big boys.

Look its pretty simple...

APPARENTLY we are the only school, at least in the SEC, willing to self report major recruiting "irregularities". Whether it be Camgate or this current issue IT IS ONLY BEING LOOKED AT at all because WE (Bracky and Co.) ran to the NCAA about it. Not because the NCAA came swooping down on our program. And apparently by us reporting these things, and making them issues, we are just giving ourselves a blackeye in the process especially with regard to the media. It may be the right thing to do, in theory, but there are a lot of downsides to it. And you know we are not the only SEC school facing these type issues so I'm assuming the other schools are in "hear no evil, see no evil" mode. Nothing was more blatant than the CJ and Whitehead "irregularities" with their new rides, heck they even put pictures of them out on social media, but apparently nobody cared because nobody at the school ran to the NCAA reporting "irregularities".

If y'all think the "Big Boys" care one way or another about us you are deluded. This crap is coming from the same place it did the last time, off to the northwest 90 miles or so. If you haven't been expecting this you aren't much on your MSU history.

It's coming from Tennessee this time.

They may get snared up in all this as well. Roy Adams has been blabbing about rumors for weeks all over the message boards. My guess is the NCAA is just verifying if there is any validity to the rumors. They found some irregularities with Jovon Robinson's grades and want to look into other players. Ole Miss could get caught up in this as much as us. Freeze was heavily courting Byron DeVinner (the 7 on 7 coach) to be their next recruiting coordinator and they've signed one of his ex players in Jaylon Walton, have a commit from another and he showed up at Corn Elder's school decked out head to toe in Ole Miss gear just before this all blew up.

The only thing new is Sheldon Dawson is being interviewed.

And his Coach is 'presuming' it is about MSU. Even though he signed with UGA. Of course it couldn't be about the 7 on 7 coach that ties all of these players together could it? Hell I'd like to know from some of our posters how we're also guilty in the Jovon Robinson case.

And I don't understand why he would presume that given, as far as I know, we never even seriously recruited a Sheldon Dawson. At least we did at least recruit Brandon Hill.

Dan Mullen is probably at work and the same with the AD. They BOTH stated that this was nearing an end. So, that answers your question partially.

For whatever reason this whole thing just isn't all that big a deal to me. I see why people are getting upset with the media hype because there really isn't much else happening. But in a few days, this will be over and done with. Redmond practicing tells me all I need to know.

So I see proof of wrong doing by a booster has come out. Something happened. My bet is that the NCAA can't get enough proof.

Gravedigger summed it up well. I think there about to be a

a whole lot of disapointed people and they won't be wearing maroon.

I read the article, and the headline, "Coaches say Mississippi State common thread in NCAA interviews."

So, despite the interviewees continuing to say there is nothing to see, they keep interviewing more people.

Tennessee has been fueling lots of this. Funny cause they just lost their best WR cause he took money from an agent. Isn't that a much bigger deal than some ****** 8 year old mustang? 17 the Nascar colored Vols.

Don't ever read the headlines. Headlines are not written by reporters.

The NCAA has no authority to subpoena testimony from anyone so if they didn't see it happen they will have a hard time getting info out of a "disassociated booster"

Cam Newton proves differently. Everyone knew he knew but the NCAA showed itself to be scared to pursue it. They set a precedent with CamGate. We had Cecil backing up everything we reported to the SEC. If we are accorded anything other than the same benefit of doubt then it's time to lawyer up.

I said they did not have to have proof. Sometimes they want it, sometimes they don't. They get to choose. Besides, they didn't need proof there, they had a confession. That was more about figuring out how to get around their on rules.

Our Damn Cheerleader AD and Compliance officer must have been Hall Monitors in High School.
You need to cheat to win, and they need to deny, deny, deny. If they didn't see it, it didn't happen..
