Ok, I know we all hate the NCAA on this board. They are inept, inconsistent, bias, and dishonest (if the Miami evidence was acquired illegally, I can't imagine what Mark Emmert would think about XenaReb and Juhugenmiasgxvhshhhdhhshshdhd).

However, we all know that we CANNOT exist and college athletics cannot exist in a lawless Wild West type existence. So my question is, what is the answer?

simplifying the rule book will probably create more holes than fix anything. Paying players will give the schools with the most money, boosters, and swag an unconquerable competitive advantage. Dan Wetzel wants to pay players on the free market. MSU and OM would fall greatly under this system because they would be constantly beat out for recruits by wealthier schools. Chris Jones, we wouldnt get him, would be outbid by Bama. Kemdechee, OM wouldnt get him. They would be out bid by Georgia. Having no rules at all and no legitimate governing body will destroy college sports.

So what is the answer?

Do we, big football conferences, shoot the NCAA the middle finger and start our own governing body?

Can the NCAA be fixed?

Should the FBI get involved in school investigations?

How can this problem be fixed? Because right now, you can get away with just about anything in college sports.

It's safe to say that investigation is 17ed. I see nothing but lawsuits following this ruling

Makes me wonder - is Jackie Sherrill's lawsuit against the NCAA still pending? I haven't heard anything about it in a long time.
