Runt, you ever eat at Hubee's, in that area some, especially at Willow Pond!
Hu-B's in Kuttawa ? Yes ! well ... I had drinks with some friends there a couple times.... hehehehe
It's been awhile though. Mostly fried foods and pizza, which is good, everyone gets pizza there when I go. I have really loved it since moving here from Madisonville / Morganfield area over the past ten plus years.... This part of Western kentucky rocks and I absolutely love living in this area right on the lake.

If we don't all get together for a Rafters social at jedwar's for BBQ, we should all find a place in or near central KY that we can all gather and mingle !

I'm game ( as soon as I can get my car fixed and I am dead broke )

I really like the positive feedback I got from so many here on the board before I moved here to Gilbertsville a year ago. Great area to be in.

My son lives in Earlington, use to be big in archery. My ventures to the Gilbertsville area started around 1958!!!

Good morning folks.

More medical issues in my family. My wife's stepfather has been dealing with Parkinson's and related early dementia. He was hospitalized then moved to a rehab center. At 3am Sunday morning he called my wife yelling at her for not bringing his pizza -- she had promised to bring him a pizza at noon and he woke up, looked at the clock and thought it was 3 in the afternoon. Then last night he got up in the middle of the night, roamed around the place then fell/collapsed and lay on the floor until some orderly stumbled across him. So, he's back in the hospital.

I'm heading for KY at the end of the week to help with my father's care. So. busy work week until then. I hope you all are doing well.

KY Transportation Dept just minutes ago blew up, then down, the steel under-structure of one the two bridges between Covington & Newport over the Licking River at their Fifth Streets. Ninety years old. We felt/heard the boom some 5-7 miles away. Replacement due to complete in 28 months. Four lanes vs. now previous three lanes. We'll see. Crappy weather - low 30's & winter mix though nothing on roads.

Good morning folks, in the sense that any morning above ground is potentially a good one. On this one, I forced myself into a short jog in a freezing sleet, then cleaned an eighth of an inch of stubborn ice off the glass surfaces of both my wife and my cars. Now I’m on a subway delayed by ice on the tracks that has caused a sensor malfunction which they won’t just ignore for reasons of liability, I assume.

A big chance for the Cats tonight. They really need this win with Florida on Saturday ending the regular season. I’m hopeful.

Have a good day. Stay warm.

Reports that Mitch is retiring, your pick for new AD?
ANYONE!!! 🤔 :sneaky: Alive and kicking....

Hello all,

Been at it again since early. I logged onto my phone for a few to read a few posts and spread a couple likes.

No surgery for now in one area thankfully. Will find out mid-April about another area. Still working on My Darlings ailments.

Go Cats, get this done right!!!

Good morning all.

I think I'll get on the treadmill this morning and go fishing this afternoon.

I have given up trying to comprehend this team. After we got down 20 in the 2nd half I turned it off and watched reruns with the wifey....so not all bad.

Have a great day everyone.

Hello all,

At it again today. A little closer to home today though. Was looking forward to getting outside to work on the car and trash the trash in the garage so I can refinish and paint the walls. Was going to use the garage to get back into "painting shape". My Darling would like the inside painted with real paint this time and not builder coating stuff. Looks like it is supposed to rain for 8 or so straight days with 70 degree weather so I may have to stay inside again until the snow returns... Then stay inside some more... The Lord knows what he is doing though.... I will be thankful...

The Cats need some sort of touch of the UK Spirit(s) of yesteryear.... Just WoW.... All the way around....

Take part and learn any lesson(s) from this day the Lord has given you...(And be thankful.) God Bless you and your families...

Good late morning folks.

Luckily i was too busy to watch the game last night. And lucky or not, soon this disappointing, aggravating year will be just an ugly stain on the program's history, and we can start dreaming of better days and a better team and, honsetly a better coach. First step: A better AD. Thank goodness that's happening soon.

So, my son found out yesterday he was getting that job in Alaska! He's very excited and I'm happy for him. He's still in his mid-20s, so it's an adventure he can take on now, before life gets more complicated.

Thanks for the head's up about the Dairy Bar VhCat. That place was an integral part of my teenage years, a spot straight out of American Graffiti or Happy Days. I guess it'll go on forever.

You all hang in there.

Good morning from ATX. 71°F and cloudy. Possibility for rain tomorrow.

Visited oncologist yesterday. My condition, thankfully, remains stable.

Spoke with nephew in FL last night for roughly 2 hours. Found out considerable disturbing news regarding a brother. *Sigh*, drama never ends.

Y'all have a good one.

Good morning everyone

@warrior-cat Wife and I just sat on the bank and fished for trout. That's what my wife likes to do and fresh trout is the best for her diet restrictions (low histamine). However, my BIL did pretty good crappie fishing and saved some in the live well for us. The fish needs to be very fresh in order for my wife to be able to eat them. So, we enjoyed sitting by the lake and although we didn't catch many we got several for the freezer.

@MdWIldcat55 Tell us a little more about your son's job. I still have a lot of family in AK (not Fairbanks though) and retired from KY Fish & Wildlife so I'm interested.

Off to the gym for a date with a treadmill, having the little niece & nephew over today and our church men's group this evening. Ahh, the life of being retired.

Have a great day.

Good morning folks. Last work day before I head to Kentucky for a brief visit to help my siblings with caring for my dad, who turns 95 this month.

Lots of work to get through, then hitting the road about 5am tomorrow.

Storm: My son will be on a Department of Interior fire prevention crew. He's a junior guy at this, so he's going to be supporting their efforts by driving in equipment, operating bulldozers and backhoes and other machinery used to build fire breaks, and stuff like that. He's certified to operate heavy equipment, has a government commercial driver's license, and other certifications that make him qualified for all this.

Hope you guys have a great day.

Good Morning All,

Sitting at my computer for a bit though I do have to leave shortly with My Darling for her appointment. (We shall see...)

Man, I am fighting with this new scanner I just bought. (An Epson WorkForce 2950) Bought it just for the mutlple sheet scanning capability. (I am condensing my paper "foot-print" as much as is possible and I DO have a paper "foot-print" larger than the average Bear in my best Yogi Bear voice.)

The darned device is fighting me though and the wireless connectivity is not cooperating. I even deleted the app to work directly from my computer to get the apple applications out of the way and just work Windows (My specialty... at least it was...)

Even connected my computer wirelessly instead of hard wired. (Just a switch/ setting. Nothing manual.) (I have a seriously high-speed setup...)

I may just hard-wire both but not working is angering me as this is an easy do I have not "done" yet. Bad medicine on my part... Baby Stuff...

Oh well, no biggie but disappointing...

Oh too, my oldest called me yeseterday, "Dad" I wanted to ask you a question..... That did it...

She has two toilet's out of three that are leaking and need new guts... Couldn't be your "ole" American Standard toilets... Has to be the Glacier Bay toilets... Try buying that kit and getting all the parts in one buy. "Dad, should I hire a plumber?" (Knowing good and well she wants me to do it.)

Well,,,,,, (In my best Rooster Cogburn voice when Ms. Goodnight was saying goodbye to Rooster...)

Have a blessed "no toilet problems" type of a day...... ;)

Edit: My dumb self, over-looked the "easy" setting... All works....

Afternoon, D, well I had my first cup of coffee out on the deck this morning about 6:45, thundering and lighting, heard the first raindrops five minutes later, though I might need to go inside, by nine we had 2" of rain!

Own Epson ET-2850. Great scanning. All wireless. Keep firmware and drivers updated. It uses to much ink, in my opinion.

Don't let dem basses get the upper hand!!!
Ran into a couple (man and wife) who were also fishing where I was and they caught only one. They talked about being out there this past Saturday and was slaying them. Said they were hitting everything. I was playing in a coed tournament Saturday so was unable to go.

I am going again on Tuesday as that will be the next day where the temp and winds will be more agreeable.

Good morning everyone.

Great morning to be outside. Grabbed a cup of coffee and headed out before daylight. I got to see 3 or 4 rabbits in our family cemetery and heard all the birds waking up. No gobbling from the turkeys yet (at least here). I need to do that more often.

Off to the Doc at UK for my wife in a bit. I'll just sit in the car and catch up on some reading.

Have a nice day.
