You're a worry body. Lol
I almost wasn't going to respond to your latest round of insults but since I threw out the issue of people not being treated like full citizens, I thought it would be cowardly, and even slightly disrespectful on my part, not to back up my words. I also thought it was possible that I could get you and a few others on this board to think about this issue differently. Then this is your answer. Well, I tried and I won't bother anymore.

I am still waiting for you to back up your words. You've done nothing other than throw out claims and assertions. Can you give real examples of people being treated like they are not full members of society due to being minority? I don't mean examples of random bigotry or ignorance. Actual examples of people truly being denied rights.

My entire response was fact based. It is a FACT that it took Supreme Court intervention to get gay marriage in this country and that only happened within the last decade despite extreme efforts by the gay community to make it happen more quickly. Do you think that the right to marry is not a real right or that telling a certain minority that they can't have that right is not an example of societal bigotry? It is a FACT that after the Mass. Supreme Court required Mass to grant gay couples living there marriage licenses, that Congress passed the Defense of Marriage Act, an absolute example of bigotry in this Country. It is also a FACT that the religious right is constantly looking for ways to strip gay marriage of any significance. It is a FACT that when Kim Davis said she had found Jesus, conveniently after her own checkered marital history that included divorce, and so could not grant marriage licenses to gays that she was hailed as a hero by the religious right. It is a FACT that Mac has made some snide remarks about my sexuality on this board. I know the default here is to contend that whatever the liberal posters on this board say is not fact but feelings but that is crap. I don't know how much more fact-based on I can be.

Woah now. I have nothing against gay people. My problem is angry, white lesbians that assume any white conservative is racist. Or a black man that does the same. The others on here? they’re just dumb. You are angry and when you can’t win on issue, you resort to deflection, a master trait by the left.

Interesting.....Hmmm, a lot can happen between now and '24. I think his only chance would be if Trump lost his grip on the GOP, and the party would split into 2 different factions.

True and I think that is going to happen. I actually like a two party system but these two parties have grown so big that they don't so much have their own platform as a platform that basically says, "We are not the other guys." That keeps new ideas from being addressed or discussed or even offered.

your response just proves my point. and you have definitely made homophobic remarks here, so while I know you say you don't have anything against gay people, and while you might actually believe it intellectually, emotionally you are definitely homophobic.

No, you do what you always do. You shout “liar liar” like an 8 yr old on the playground. Here’s an example, and it’s fact: I don’t like George Soros. Your response is to call me anti Semitic. I don’t like him cause I think he’s evil, his ethnicity has NO bearing. But, you divert to ********.

Patiently waiting for examples of people being treated like they are not full members of society because they are in the minority. What are the rights that they don't have that everyone else does, ect.?

the problem os that you believe things about him that are not true and that have their genesis in anti-semitism. But, we are now just shouting past each other at this point so Shalom.

So basically what you’re saying is I’m a liar saying I think he’s an evil person when you say I’m racist cause he’s Jewish. When I’ve given examples of him making political donations to left wing candidates, and their rulings are dangerous. You play the oldest trick in the book. Can’t beat em on issues, try to smear them.

You wonder why I strongly disagree with you. Your thinking is dangerous, and filled with venom.

And, once again Topps is not quite accurate. The CBO's projections include how many people would be lifted out of poverty.https://www.cnn.com/2021/02/08/politics/cbo-report-15-dollar-minimum-wage/index.html

Do the people who supposedly lifted out of poverty offset the ones who will be out of work.Imo you do not understand that raising the minimum wage is going to raise prices which will negate the raises they get.

You would be surprised at how much I understand. And given that you absolute never get the story straight and have to be corrected, perhaps you should roll back the condescension.

The CBO's mid-point estimate of 1.3 million jobs lost offsets the 1.3 million worker reduction in poverty, and would mean a net reduction in real family income of $9 billion by 2025. ... The CBO's analysis is consistent with recent research on the impact of dramatic minimum wage hikes.

Its a fallacy that raising the minimum wage will help more than hurt overall. Address the issue of why people are working for minimum wage rather than the wage itself. Treat the disease - education and skill set, vs the symptom...Low skill, repetitive work that dominates minimum wage jobs will be eliminated by AI and automation. If you don't have a cognitive skill to offer you are going to find it hard to make a living.

An example of the impending change in behavior of those who employ minimum wage workers - just the beginning

Its not a political issue...its a societal issue.

There is only 2.3 percent of working Americans at the minimum wage. This number includes people over sixteen so I don’t know how many of this number are teenagers

And you know that because? Career government employees are also the ones prosecuting things like insider trading, pyramid schemes, fraud, theft, in NY Martin Act violations. We have to learn a little bit about economics to do our jobs.

In 35 years of business have never met a long long government employee who knew anything about what it takes to run a business

Those are actually two different things. Understanding the macro effect of how certain changes effect the economy is different from what it takes to run a business.

You have led a limited life then.
No unfortunately as a regional manager supervising fifty offices I spent too many hours dealing with government officials who were clueless .Literally have went to different investigators in the same department on the same day who would give two opposite opinions on the same topic.Government employees unfortunately hire people who would not be employable if they were held accountable for their work

My point is that the people these macro decisions usually do not understand damage their decisions make due to their lack of knowledge of business. There is a world of difference in theory than having actual real world experience.

A long but very unsettling article about US ties with China

Written from a right leaning perspective - however, it contains information that should alarm either side and all of us.

its crazy to read paying people more would cost jobs......that seems like the greed and bottom line of companies taking precedence......should a high schooler make $15 an hour at Mcdonalds flipping burgers, no..........but Mr. Sam age 37 whose been working there forever trying to raise a family working 40plus hours week should be close to that imo......maybe an age/time worked rule but not everybody...$15 an hr 8 hrs a day is $600 a week..2400 a month...28k a year

Oh of ****ing course. It definitely has nothing to do with the guy who was President for the first year of the pandemic, the guy who did absolutely nothing to combat it.
Haha. Whatever you say snowflake. Blame it on Trump. Biden did have months to figure out how he would do things once he was President. But things are different now that he’s in the hot seat. We also know he’s really not the one making these decisions. Biden is just a puppet.
