You actually didn't read it, did you? Or if you did you misunderstood, we wouldn't be rewarding anyone for being lazy because it would go to everyone. I don't view having just enough money to scrape by paying utilities, rent and food every month as a reward. I've been there before and I was putting in 50 hours a week in warehouse. If I ever missed a paycheck I was screwed and could've been out on the street with my kid and fiance and I don't know about you but that, to me is horseshit. So I want to see the need parts taken of for people, and I think cutting people a check is the best way to do that.
We wholeheartedly disagree on this. Giving people money who don't earn it is absolutely rewarding laziness. And the money they get will be coming from the people who aren't useless leeches of society. No thank you. There are programs to take care of homeless people. Most homeless people choose not to take advantage
The ones who don't won't be homeless for long. The homeless population is mostly full of people who made their own decisions and have chosen tk live the way they do. Another fraction of homelessness is mental health problems. And this is definitely something that needs to be addressed in the country for many reasons, not just homelessness. A check will not solve these issues.

What about people who are mentally ill or with physical impairments? And when some of these people who despise have kids, which they will, do we let the kids starve too because they had the bad sense to be born to lazy mothers? This idea of letting people starve does not sound compatible with being a good Christian and yet we seem to be embracing religion more and more as a country in setting policy so what? religion is important when forcing women to complete unwanted pregnancies but not when it comes to feeding them? I don't want to descend into third world status so I don't want to live in a city where people are booted out of their homes living on the streets without access to healthcare. NYC was a little bit like that in the 80's and it was awful. A country as rich as ours should not behave that way. As far as stopping immigration, news flash, for the most part people coming to this country want to work to make their lives better. We should be letting them in, as long as they pass the very robust background check that we have had since even before Trump became president, since they will act as role models for the poor that you despise so much.
You must have a reading problem.I said anyone capable of working should not be rewarded with free handouts.Providing for yourself gives a person self respect as opposed to the self loathing that welfare does. The evidence is s clear to see in liberal cities where welfare has created a permanent underclass with no hope.As someone who grew up desperately poor why do you think I hate the poor.I hate left wing ideas that will inevitably lead the USA into becoming the third world country that you say you don’t want. Finally legal is to be desired but the unfettered open border that liberals want is a disaster which will cause more poverty crime and lower wages for American workers

How is it rewarding laziness if it goes to everyone? As I said before, I worked all the time at Amazon, and after that at a prison and I was never more than one missed paycheck from staring at homelessness. I know I'm far from a unique case and it would really reward those who do work. Because then they almost assuredly wouldn't be living paycheck to paycheck, and instead would be able to spend that money on things they want. And believe me, when you make $15 an hour or less, tax season is basically your Christmas, birthday and disposable income rolled into one.

Are you currently living paycheck to paycheck?

Liberals DO NOT WANT open borders. Remember the wall was built with Democrats support-that is the wall we needed. Bot the unnecessary crap that Trump stole money from the pentagon to build. You need to stop reading all that right wing **** and make an effort to actually learn what the Dems want

That is utter nonsense .Liberals say one thing but do the opposite. You said they do not want open borders but open the borders.Liberals railed against Trump separting children and putting them in detention centers but are now opening the same centers. You don’t want open borders but Biden’s rhetoric has started the caravans again because they know he will release them if they are caught.Liberal doctrine say one thing while running and govern the opposite

Look. This is possibly the stupidest response possible. I say "neither side gives a damn about the national debt." And then said "I am not going to spend my time defending or encouraging the republican party". And you respond with some nonsense about the republican party and excuse away the debt the democrats have contributed to and what they are about to add to it. Just dumb. I am very clear when I say that NEITHER side care about it. As far as why I vote right is because their policies take less money out of my paycheck and they don't cram social issues down our throats. I have plenty of criticism for republicans, but that's what we're left with. One or the other.
Which social issues get shoved down your throat?

IMO gay rights has gone beyond just acceptance, now promoting. What started as equality are now anti-white policies. And lastly questioning the nuclear family. Those are the major ones for my family and friends.
Right now approximately 70 percent of the country is white.Racism and discrimination is never acceptable for any race ,religious beliefs or sexual orientation, but the idea that America is is a racially bigoted exogenously country without unlimited possibilities for success if someone is willing to pay the price for that success is ludicrous. If that were so we would not have millions of people trying to illegally enter.Liberals are willing to lower the standard of living for the seventy percent majority pushing policies that have failed everywhere else in the world in order to get something for free

I am sorry but nothing about gay rights is "promoting." No one wants to turn you gay or convince members of your family to be gay. They just want to live their lives being treated with dignity. You are buying into the homophobic religious right crap. And NO ONE is questioning the nuclear family. That is totally and absolutely absurd.

Blm doctrine states they want to disrupt the western nuclear family. As their founder say they are trained Marxists this is consistent with the Communist idea of government replacing the family unit

That is one doctrine from a fringe part of a movement. Anytime ANYONE ANYWHERE suggests something that might have some slight effect on your existence, you white men scream like banshees. Within a few years white people will not be the majority in the is country. You better enjoy your privileged status when you have it.

US population....who is going to ascend to majority status in a few years? Hispanics would have to increase 200%+ adding close to 150M to their number...if that happens we are all in a world of hurt in the US no matter what race we are - supporting that population growth would be impossible

  • White: 60.1% (Non-Hispanic)
  • Hispanic: 18.5%
  • Black: 12.2%
  • Asian: 5.6%
  • Multiple Races: 2.8%
  • American Indian/Alaska Native: 0.7%
  • Native Hawaiian/Other Pacific Islander: 0.2%

You're a blatant racist if you aren't. Wouldn't surprise me that you would be racist. You have a very narrow minded attitude towards people who don't think like you.
How many old, gay non white women do you know that are angry too?

She’s an old angry white woman.

I have absolutely no time for people who insist on keeping themselves ignorant and in doing so try to keep people who are not like them from having the same rights and privileges as you. And, quite frankly Ghost, you are describing yourself, Mac and Topps as well. When I have disagreed with you guys you basically call me stupid. You recently said one of the my responses to you about the deficit was just plain dumb. And when you say that you don't like social issues being shoved down your throat, what do you think that mean since a lot of those social issues have to do with protecting people who are in the minority and making sure that they are treated like full members of society.

So you made it through harder times and are now in position to better your life/career by working hard and making smart decisions, no?
Absolutely, when I finish my degree in four years(bachelor's in cybersecurity) I'll be able to get a good job. But I also realize how close I was to losing everything and some people are bit less fortunate and do lose it all. If I would have had a UBI I could've quit doing those mediocre jobs when my daughter was born and immediately began working on my degree, which I would almost be finished with.

So while I understand not wanting to reward people for being lazy, I just think the benefits outweigh the risk because the ones who would see the biggest boons are people like me.

Your problem is that you consider your opinions to be facts. It is your opinion that people who don't think like you are ignorant. It is your opinion that there is a meaningful group of people who are tryiing keep people from having the same rights and privileges as them. It is your opinion that people who are in the minority are not treated like full members of society. And yes, IMO this is a very stupid opinion.

As far as my saying that your response to the debt comment was dumb... it was.

Well, gay people had to fight tooth and nail for the right to marry—something heteros take for granted. Since then the religious right has brought case after case to whittle down that right and given the way Trump and Moscow Mitch packed the court, we may lose that right altogether. Some states have made a push to pass legislation saying doctors don’t have to treat gay people if homosexuality offends their religious beliefs. Nice, huh? It is 2021 and science has proved that homosexuality is not a mental disease and I would have thought this fight would end. On this Duke board, Mac has nade a few nasty comments about gays and brings up my orientation at every turn. Assassin says he feels that the gay community has gone from wanting acceptance to promoting. So apparently demanding to be treated like everyone else is a bridge too far for him. I gave no patience for homophobic ignoramuses. And given my experiences, I am better suited than a heterosexual person to know about discrimination.
