Maybe because he is better at it than you are willing to give him credit. https://www.nbcnews.com/feature/nbc...omplicated-relationship-larry-kramer-n1241684
As for changing his tune, it is not unusual for opinions to evolve as more data becomes available or when it becomes apparent that data that should be available is being held back or suppressed. Fauci is still not saying that he thinks the virus is manmade so to that degree he is not changing his tune. But given the lack of transparency at Wuhan and the fact that we still don't have a concrete answer on what happened, he has added is voice to those who think it is important to have a full-on investigation.
You love the little cricket because the left run media has put him on a pedestal and has created an image of him being antithetical to Trump. People who take him seriously at this point are exposing themselves as blind sheep. It has nothing to do with changing data. It has everything to do with saying the right thing to the right people and doing so based on politics. He never speaks in a way that leaves open the possibility of him being wrong or unknowing. He always speaks in absolutes. The fact that you pointed out the fact that there lacks transparency from Wuhan is interesting. Fauci has said from the beginning that they have been transparent and that there is nothing to suggest that this was leaked or released from a lab. He even went to great measures to give theories and evidence to why it wouldn't be possible for this to be a virus that originated in a lab. You know why, right? I think you do. Now he is saying a lot of what we heard was racist conspiracy theories last year.

Last January Tony said the chinese Govt were being very transparent with the WHO and US govt with respect to the orgins of the virus. That is at absolute best- ignorant and extremely naive, or at worst (most likely) he was flat out lying. Last spring he said the virus (paraphrasing from memory) came from animals/wet market. He flat out dismissed the thought that it could have leaked from the Wuhan Institute of Virology. That is again, at best ignorant or at worst—-lying. A State department report from earlier this year stated the virus likely came from that lab, yet Tony claims he had no idea until the WSJ report from this weekend, which reported that the first Three known and hospitalized covid patients were researchers from the lab. Tony is a great politician. He tip toes every line so that he doesn’t get himself in trouble legally speaking, but says enough damaging things that harm every day citizens who trust his every word. Then like clock work, his opinions magically change. And let’s not get it twisted here. He’s not changing his narrative based on facts or new data, he’s changing his tune based on what’s more convenient for him and his agenda at that time. Masks won’t do anything, masks work, two masks is stupid, two masks makes sense, wear a mask even if your vaccinated, don’t wear a mask if you’re vaccinated, socially distance at 6 feet, just kidding 3 feet, wait no back to 6, nah let’s say no social distancing if your vaccinated and around other vaccinated people and you’re outdoors, but not indoors, ok just kidding if your vaccinated you can live your life. Boy that’s exhausting, and you wonder why 1. People are scared shitless or 2. Don’t trust the govt healthcare officials.

Well, as far as don't trust heath officials, the fact that Trump put a muzzle on the CDC and had them parrot his idiocy should not be discounted.

By the spring of 2020, he was complaining about the lack of transparency.

More subjectivity from a bias report without actually providing real examples. So the administration wanted kids back in school and the country reopened quicker than some thought was safe. Again with the masks. Atlas was a one time respected medical expert until he gave common sense takes on the effects on young people and the ineffectiveness of masks used in a civilian setting. So where in that article does it show where Trump muzzled the cdc and had them parrot his idiocy?

CDC survival rates for people under 19- 99.997%. Kids are not at risk from covid, they haven’t been shown to be chief transmitters either. Pushing the children to be back in school was as right then as it is now. Muzzling kids was what was truly wrong. I cringe when i see these poor kids wearing masks around outside. There is zero science that says that is a good move, and quite the opposite. Those poor kids need interaction with other children, need to be in class, learning. Speech problems, learning disabilities, overall immune health, exercise/obesity etc. were all compromised due to being at home.

When conservatives suggested that Covid was started by the Chinese in the Wigan lab they were labeled as racist and conspiracy nuts. Now the leftists are in charge it is no longer crazy to consider it is a viable theory.Who would have thunk it
topps, my only thought to that is that its a tough charge after a month or two......so much time has passed now, possible new info and the like, that stance may indeed be more credible

survival rate is indeed high, but what about possibily effects down the road.....what about the adults in their lives that they come in contact with.....kids are getting covid, we have been in face to face learning since august...we get many many calls weekly about cases.....after spring break when the a week and b week merged together...cases went up

We cannont live our lives worrying about what might possibly happen down the road. There are long term effects with many illnesses, including something as minor as the common cold. Cases with kids are almost completely meaningless. Influenza effects youth much more than covid does. That's "science", but we don't terrify our kids every flu season and make them wear masks and make them stay away from their friends and grandparents when they're healthy. Not to mention how relative the term cases really is with covid. They're running 35-45 cycles in these tests searching for covid. Experts have said that after 30 cycles those tests are useless. They recommend 17-25 cycles. So there is a good chance that a big portion of these "cases" among children are nothing more than the rhinovirus. Which is a type of coronavirus. We all have it.

This pandemic has weakened our brains more than it has our bodies and that is sad. We have become afraid, judgmental and even tyrannical of/over our neighbors, friends and families. It is far past time to let the fearful make their own choices and the rest of us go about our lives. There's a vaccine that seems to be very effective, utilize it and stop worrying about what other people are doing.

Spot on ghost. The libs are caught here. If any agrees with this common sense based approach that you (and many, many others) are suggesting, that would mean they would be disagreeing with the media. So that won’t happen.

We’ve been played. Period.

Well said. Can’t say it any better. You cannot continue living in fear. That’s not living, and i feel awful for the people who sheltered themselves off from society, loved ones, etc. bc of a virus they had an extremely low chance of having any serious life threatening reactions to. It’s just sad, truly.

If everyone, including the President, had taken this seriously from the start, stayed home as much as possible, socially distanced and wore masks, we would have long been done with this.

Did you read it? It does endorse the view that children don’t get as sick as adults.
I don't need to read it. Does it illustrate the different reasons why there is a larger "percentage" of covid cases with children? It is fear without context. A typical left wing tactic.

With all due respect, This is nothing more than your opinion, based on zero data, zero understanding of how a virus works, how masks do/don’t work, actual effectiveness of “social distancing” and then sprinkled in with your political beliefs. You wanted herd immunity two weeks ago, but you are now suggesting that we should have all worn masks and hunkered down until the big bad magical Virus passed over us? Does that make even a little bit of sense?

Give me a little more credit than that. By hunkering down, we would have taken out of circulation a large number of hosts, which would have starved the virus. There were epidemiologists who noted that if it would have been possible for the entire world to take a two week pause, we would have beaten the virus. Obviously that is impossible but it is the same theory.

I also have to say that I actually do understand how viruses work, the efficacy of masks and herd immunity. The fact that you disagree with me does not make me ignorant. I am also getting really frustrated with the fall back position that my politics are getting in the way or driving my conclusions. Of course they are. Just like yours are driving your conclusions
. It is called confirmation bias and no human is immune from it. You appear to have decided to listen to doctors whose suggestions align with you political beliefs. From where I sit, these beliefs and your conclusions are wrong just like from where you sit, mine are wrong. If we have points to make —and I am including. myself—perhaps we could make them without taking potshots at our differing politics.

Happiest person on the board now is @durhamgolfer. The reason? @Crest is Garbage just posted the dumbest thing yet, therefore relieving her of the worst post of the day.
Crests post is spot on and fantastic. Your party has no interest whatsoever in getting to the truth of what happened. Why is that, one wonders? The answer seems pretty obvious and if you need a clue, think about Liz Cheney.

They get pretty sensitive when you hit at the leader of their party, or his role in death of law enforcement officials on January 6th. It’s almost as if they just want to sweep it under the rug and babble on about mask BS to deflect.

Once again, I commend you for your effort with them.

A false equivalency - by a large margin. If I need to tell you why then you are beyond help. If you posted to get a rise out of people, then that speaks more about you than it does them.
LOL! A false equivalency?

Yeah, I suppose you’re right, the murder of law enforcement officials at the US Capitol is a much bigger deal than the Benghazi crap that Republicans peddled for years.

Thanks, I needed a laugh.

This is more of your ways to take people's words and make them say something they didn't say. He was likely commenting, presumptuously perhaps, on your knowledge of viruses or understanding, so to speak, based on your content on the matter. He didn't accuse you of basing your beliefs on your politics. But I will. He just said on top of your opinions based on zero data, you sprinkle in your politics. You are right about confirmation bias. But facts elude bias. Confirmation bias isn't what we're dealing with here. Selection bias is. And you're a victim of it as much as you are a perpetrator. You tend to give your opinions in the form of facts and your links to back up your opinions are all subjective and selective. It's good that you can acknowledge being bias, and I will do the same. I can be bias as well.
