Outside of a few progressives, it is simply a lie that the Democrats want open borders. We too want to make sure that our country is safe and we control who gets to enter. And quite frankly the checks that were in place under Obama were pretty rigorous. Trump just brainwashed you all into thinking they weren't.

How would one screen illegal crossers? The whole point is that they get through undetected. The point of keeping Trump's' Title 42 in place was to keep out potential carriers of the virus. Of course, other ways to stem the Delta variant would be by all Americans getting vaccinated and wearing masks. But that would add common sense into the discussion.
No the illegal crossers that turn themselves into Border Patrol and then are released into the US on a bus ride paid for by us taxpayers. At some point they’re held in a detention center where they should be tested but you know what just drop them off in the desert.
