They get pretty sensitive when you hit at the leader of their party, or his role in death of law enforcement officials on January 6th. It’s almost as if they just want to sweep it under the rug and babble on about mask BS to deflect.

Once again, I commend you for your effort with them.

Explain the "death of law enforcement officials: (plural )- comment? Or even the death of the one Capitol Police officer...who died of two strokes.....as the fault of the rioters.

There was one person killed by force on that day - one rioter BY the Capitol police...the rest were natural causes as per the coroner

While the events on the 6th were abhorrent and an embarrasment for the country - spouting lies about it isnt any better by you or the media

LOL! A false equivalency?

Yeah, I suppose you’re right, the murder of law enforcement officials at the US Capitol is a much bigger deal than the Benghazi crap that Republicans peddled for years.

Thanks, I needed a laugh.

4 killed by islamic militants vs 1 killed BY the police and 4 of natural causes to you is the same thing? Your village called and would like you to return.

I don't think there is a single poster ITT that doesn't think what happened there was an embarrassment and disgraceful. Yet we have these clowns act like because we didn't vote for a kid diddling dementia patient with a long history of failure in government and corruption, that means we supported the idiots who stormed the Capitol. Oops, I mean attempted to overthrow the government without weapons. Lol. These guys are clowns unwilling to own what their guy is doing to our country right now. Too hung up on the past.

No fair minded person doubts Trump supporters didn’t go inside on the 6th. But, you’re a liar if you think BLM/Antifa weren’t involved.

John Sullivan. You libs look him up. He’s one of many there.
Can you say “Set Up?”

@GhostOf301 @denverexpat is this your opinion as well?
What opinion? I am not sure about BLM. But didn't they just seize money that an admitted antifa member made selling video that he recorded himself inside the capitol? Do you doubt that antifa was there?

It was hands down the Trump supporters who were responsible for the actions and the consequences of that day. But to pretend that antifa wasn't mixed in is pretty ignorant IMO.

The crap was that the Republicans kept calling HRC back to try to pin the whole fiasco on her when she had no control over combat decisions. and in fact had repeatedly requested better weapons for the marines -- a request that was denied by policy wonk Paul Ryan. I honestly don't understand why the entire nation is not clamoring for a hearing. Things happened that were abhorrent. There were people with weapons who stormed the Capitol, the seat of our democracy and wanted to hang Mike Pence. If there were members of antifa and BLM there as well, why wouldn't you want that to come out. BTW, McCarthy gave Pelosi a whole set of demands on how to run the hearings that were designed to make sure the Dems did not just run roughshod over the Republicans thinking she would never agree to them and she agreed to all of them. And still that traitorous punk *** voted no for the hearing. This was a disgraceful period in our history that is being more disgraceful by the willingness of the Republicans and their supporters to sweep it all under the rug.

Lol again. What we're calling weapons here have been used by antifa for 6 years. They're just an idea. I guess the "insurrectionists" (lol) were just ideas. We all condemn the ******** from that day. They were nothing but a bunch of idiots. Unfortunately, all it takes for people to lose their lives is a bunch of idiots. But to make it out to be some kind of planned attack to overthrow the government (again, lol) is insanity. Everyone that went into the capitol or broke laws that day should be prosecuted, I am 100% in agreement here. But let's be adults and call it what it really is. Not some over-dramatic nonsense. No, there doesn't need to be an investigation. They just need to continue to hold the guity accountable.

You just labelled NPR, which is a serious news agency, as publishing propaganda! Time to own your biases.
The same news agency who said they wouldn't cover the Hunter laptop story because they said they don't cover non news stories. Yeah, they lost their credibility too when they openly assisted in a presidential campaign.

How precisely are you able to arrive at these conclusions without an investigation. I believe that there is evidence of coordination between the rioters and the President and some members of Congress. That may be overdramatic nonsense or it may be truth. Until anyone examines it, how will we know which is the correct view?

Give me a little more credit than that. By hunkering down, we would have taken out of circulation a large number of hosts, which would have starved the virus. There were epidemiologists who noted that if it would have been possible for the entire world to take a two week pause, we would have beaten the virus. Obviously that is impossible but it is the same theory.
Uh we hunkered down much longer than two weeks. Please explain to me why the states with the least restrictions had much better results than ones with the harshest restrictions, despite the liberal press claiming that these states leaders were advocating mass murders

Ummm...no. But the Tiny Desk concert series are really enjoyable. While working at a college radio station that was NPR affiliated I can assure that the leanings are way left.

She is the only one here that determines what is a reputable news agency. You are a chauvinistic pig for challenging her declaration.

I am still waiting for her to explain why Europe and India, especially India, are having such a hard time controlling the virus when they "hunkered down" more than anywhere in the states. It's almost (almost) like the virus was going to spread regardless of lockdowns. I am old enough to remember when the narrative was Europe and India were doing so much better than the United States. Like you said, they have no answer to why (seemingly) red states have handled the virus with similar or lower death rates and have higher employment rates than the blue states. Even in blue states, the red counties are doing better. All coincidences, though. There's an explanation for all of it.

I am not quite sure where you get that from. You telling me that NPR is a propaganda machine is just the flip side of deciding which news agencies are legitimate. In fact, pretty much whatever news source I quote, either you, Topps or Mac tell me it is complete left-wing biased nonsense. I have routinely criticized Newsmax but that is a no brainer. I also have never made a comment about someone being a chauvinist pig for disagreeing with me. You constituently complain about me putting words in your mouth and then you do this. BTW, you are incorrect about red states doing better handling the virus than blue states. That happened early on in the pandemic because the blue states tended to have big cities with denser populations. That stopped being the case was the days went on. For support, here is a review of a study conducted by Johns Hopkins. Will you click on that or are medical journals propaganda as well? https://www.medicalnewstoday.com/ar...-in-republican-led-states-hardest-study-finds

The chauvinistic pig comment was clearly tongue and cheek. Not everything is meant to be taken seriously. I didn't say that NPR was a propaganda machine, the article you linked was propaganda though.

Your study here seems to be very selective on timeframes. Conveniently selective. So I have to ask why? For people who complained about this being made political, they sure as hell have a direction they are leaning in this study. Fact is, over half of the cases come from blue states. Over half of the deaths come from blue states. This is with red states having two more states than blue. Now find a study that includes the overall effects of the pandemic. Economic, mental health, crime related issues, the whole thing. That's all part of it too.

I also have to say that I actually do understand how viruses work, the efficacy of masks and herd immunity. The fact that you disagree with me does not make me ignorant. I am also getting really frustrated with the fall back position that my politics are getting in the way or driving my conclusions. Of course they are. Just like yours are driving your conclusions
. It is called confirmation bias and no human is immune from it. You appear to have decided to listen to doctors whose suggestions align with you political beliefs. From where I sit, these beliefs and your conclusions are wrong just like from where you sit, mine are wrong. If we have points to make —and I am including. myself—perhaps we could make them without taking potshots at our differing politics.
This is a gross misrepresentation of anything I’ve said in this thread. I’ve kept politics out of every single post I’ve made. I’d challenge you to go back and view where I’ve inserted my political leanings in any discussion. I’ve purposely kept it to the covid-19 discussion because discussing politics is a no win situation. The pandemic should be non-partisan, non political and strictly medical science. I understand in the charged Political sphere we are in now, people will dig in and just take up whatever talking points their side delivers them. I get it.

But this is going around in a circle. I’ve said it multiple times in this thread, the masks efficacy discussion is pretty simple. If you’re using the correct N-95 mask, fitted to your particular face, worn only once, yes masks help. Outside of that, it’s like putting up a chain link fence to keep out insects. These nanoparticles are so microscopic that they’ll get out. That doesn’t even address the fact that people are using them for multi use without washing, they’re touching them and their faces constantly while wearing them, and on top of that not even wearing them properly. So a blanket statement of masks work, is disingenuous at best. I can only repeat this so many times before it becomes a waste of my time.

We have multiple vaccines out now that are extremely effective we’ve been told. If you’re vaccinated, you should be living your life normal, regardless of what your neighbor is doing. That has zero to do with your life.

Your response to me was a pure opinion, in which you blamed the previous Administration (see political), said if we had only hunkered down (believe I’m paraphrasing) and this virus would have gone away. I called you on that, to which you then 1. Asked for more credit and then 2. correctly admitted it was impossible for us to completely hunker down as a society. So, my assertion that you don’t know how virus’ work was based on your solution to getting rid of the virus. Ironically, i believe i pointed out, just a week or two ago that you were saying we needed herd immunity to get to normal. You even provided that opinion piece that was months old which suggested we needed to be between 60-70% i think. I actually did read it. Herd immunity is how we get through it. People getting vaccinated and people who’ve already have it. We’ve got well over 100M people that have been vaccinated and god only knows how many people have had it. And i will not go back and explain the masks thing again for the upteenth time. It’s common sense what i wrote. If you think anything I’ve written is politics, that’s a you problem.

We should definitely celebrate political prosecution. Meanwhile, China Joe has handed Russia a major foreign policy victory and has let China off the hook for unleashing this pandemic on the world. But yeah. Let's just continue to obsess over the last guy. Fvcking idiots.
