......had become a sore spot for our football program over the years. Even if the majority of MSU fans liked him, and I have my doubts about that, people outside of our program thought he was silly and an embarrassment to MSU because of his odd voice.
From my perspective, Hank Flick represented yet another part of the "old" in MSU football. It may not matter one damn bit as far as results on the field, but I believe that ridding ourselves of all the things that we've always done and always been accustomed to is the only real way for the program to move forward and hope for a brighter future. It's out with the old and in with the new, as they say. We started with the AD and we've worked all the way down.
