I'm happy Oscar is back simply because I like Oscar as a person and he truly wants to be here. Throw in that he is the returning NPOY and it's even better. I can't wait to see Oscar wear the blue and white for one more season.

That said I can see why some still aren't happy because they realize it doesn't matter who is on the roster if Cal doesn't have multiple lotto picks he isn't doing squat in the tournament.

Can the LOD wait until something bad happens before getting bent out of shape? You may be right, but you didn't 'know' how this would all play out.
They are going to get bent regardless of the outcome. They don’t have a choice. If you squall the sky is falling long enough, if you stop, your credibility goes to hell. They started with no credibility so by bitching about any outcome leaves them nowhere to go but up.

Wow, where did you get that. I was just trying to enjoy a great announcement. Take it easy.
You took a direct personal shot at the OP. Tell me I overstated this quote.

Another poster who looks at the negative on a very positive day for UK fans. Gotta love it. I'll bet you are one of those who complains about why the 10th guy on the team didn't play after we win a big game in OT.

And the chicken boy cries again. Is that the talking point for you riff raff? If anything positive happens demonize the story and the one that delivers it. Personally attack anyone that supports it. I get that strategy strategy right for the hater boi’s?

I am super pumped and thankful Oscar is coming back, but Toppin's return bears a ton of weight on our success next season. More than most are giving it credit for.
Why does everyone think Toppin is the answer. He has been basically hurt since he got here, very inconsistent shooter doesn't rebound thar well and only plays defense half the time. He has flashes of brilliance but they are too few and far between, there are a half dozen guys in portal that would be better options at the 4 spot

Solid doesn’t cut it for a PG at UK. Not if we have Final Four/Title aspirations.
Back to back all sec doesn’t cut it? He averaged 4 more assists per games than turnovers. That’s anywhere between 8-12 more points than he’s giving up. His shooting wasn’t the problem at the end either. Tyty and Grady were both bad offensively and defensively. Kentucky shot 27% from 3 their last 7 games. Is that Wheelers fault? Oh no, think again. Wheeler shot somewhere in the 30% the last 7. Hmmmm interesting. So that must mean the ****** 3 point shooting came from someone else… that’s interesting.

woukd you agree that in mid season form when Tyty was pre injury and Grady was hitting at a 45% clip, that Wheeler was good enough to lead Kentucky to a championship? Bc I bet you did. I know you did. As did I. He’s a past first guard who needs other guys to play their part. When our supposed shooters can’t shoot and Oscar is the only other guy scoring, then it forces Wheeler into a tough spot. He has to shoot more. And in fact he did shoot better than Tyty and Grady at the end.
So think again smart boy. Wheeler is absolutely capable. At least with Wallace and Livingston, if they can’t shoot from 3, they at least seem capable of getting into the lane, which Tyty and Grady struggled mightily to do

I would have announced Sharpe first, and then Oscar a few hours later if Sharpe is truly leaving. Always break the bad news with the good. The opposite doesn't always work.
This. It makes zero sense to plan it as Oscar first. If you want to spin doctor that situation you let Sharpe bolt, let everyone work it out of their system for two weeks -then- you cue Oscar and all is forgiven or at least as close as it’s gonna get.

Now after Reeves' announcement, go get a scoring PG or do whatever we can to get Dillingham here for next year.

I am wondering if Sharpe will put out one of those "goodbye" videos on Instagram or wherever, with him announcing his plans? Or does he know the dumper fire that his situation has caused and the frustration from fans? Does he not even have the decentcy to tell BBN and Sharpe just bolts? Man, this is more of a gut punch than originally thought.

He is an important piece, but think PG is the most important at the moment. Now Wheeler is returning, insanity.

With Big O announcing he is returning to UK, this tells us what we all have been wanting to know. Timing is everything, especially with Cal and UK. With this news, Sharpe will announce he is heading off to the NBA, likely on Friday. Oscar's news will conveniently take some of the heat off of Sharpe's impending decision while fans are joyed that Oscar is returning.

This is one of the oldest and most effective tricks in the book, look over there while this is happening over here. This was all so predictable, as many of us knew how this would go down.

In ending, Sharpe will be headed to the NBA and shortly after his announcement, Antonio Reeves will be joining the Wildcats next season. Reeves is one of the better consolation prizes we could have gotten for Sharpe leaving in my opinion.
Nothing will make up for Sharpe using this program like a free practice for half a year.

Glad to see someone was paying attention lol. You didn’t “know” but we know you actually did.

I think Wallace needs to play the 2 spot.

Wheeler is not the guy that will lead us to a championship. We need to fill a major void at the PG position. My other concern is Calipari forcing minutes to Wheeler when he doesn't need them/when he is playing bad. He has a terrible track record of allowing certain players to play when they shouldn't.

PG: _______________ (transfer) / Wheeler (backup, unless he leaves)
SG: Wallace/Frederick/___________ (would be nice to have another transfer here)
SF: Livingston/_____________ (transfer)
PF: Toppin (hopefully)/Ware/Collins/_______________ (transfer, especially if Ware leaves, which wouldn't bother me)
C: Oscar/Ware/Collins
High school teams have better shooters than that lineup. Frederick is the only shooter on the list. That's a bad shooting lineup even for Cal standards. Another flawed roster and that's becoming the norm..

Yep. Glad others can see this. Even if we pick up another decent shooter in the portal, we will most likely only have ONE deep threat on the court at a time. In 2022, that just won’t cut it.
