The oddest thing about the Damien Williams "hype"

Has nothing do with it. We were just trying to remember because someone asked if he had real offers from Nebraska and K State. Engie was thinking he went on an official visit to Nebraska, then maybe just to a game on an unofficial visit but can't find that anywhere either. I know a lot of the Husker fans where high on him when they saw his highlights and didn't even want to wait until the OC went to visit him during the spring to make the offer official. For whatever reason it appears things slowed down on their end after that visit. Like I said before I liked him when we got him. I know a lot of people where down on him because we flipped him from Southern but if it wasn't for his height he would have been rated higher I believe. He was a young man I liked before we offered him. I thought we should have cut ties with Dobbs earlier but was happy he were able swing Williams. I know several people on different boards thought he will be nothing but a career back-up, if that, because of his rating. Honestly, I think he has a good shot to lead this team. And if he doesn't it means we have a really good QB to beat him out because he definitely has potential. Really think we might just have the best and deepest QB situation we have ever had over the next couple of years. Liked O'Korn as well but he was someone that got late action but respect him staying with his commitment to Houston.

You raise a good point. If Williams plays a great game, and we go to a bowl, and he's the guy there as well, do we have a QB battle in the spring?

Not convinced that I actually want to see it. The smart money says it could get ugly.

No, it doesn't.

If that was what the smart money said -- why has the spread remained basically unchanged as it has become obvious Williams would be the guy?

OK ...

I'm sorry I misstated. No throw more than 3 yards down the field against Arkansas, and yes the throw Wilson dropped was a well thrown BB.

He may not have thrown long ... BUT 3 out of 4 (75%) for 75 yards is pretty good for a true Freshman in a SEC away Game.

Yeah maybe so. I though maybe just a typo since the completion percentage was 75 as well. But it could have been the total yards.
