There’s talk of LaTech replacing them in the Sun Belt, but that’s currently being blocked by some Sun Belt members.

I think LA Tech blocked one or more of the other LA schools from CUSA several years ago. Or at least that’s what the other schools think (not sure LA Tech has that power). So now that Sunbelt is the better conferences, those schools are retiring the favor.
