I think this is the third(?) attempt at something like this.

The last time pretty sure it was just tryouts and nothing really happened.

Also I think one of the earlier versions ended up in just Canadian cities. Some I wasn’t familiar with.

At least the 3rd. There have been leagues in Canada with a franchise in Philly (Wings) going back over half a century. The first attempt with serious US participation was back in '73 which ran through '75. Montreal, Quebec City, Syracuse, Boston, Long Island and Philadelphia. The season ran from late spring through summer. Brine owned the Boston franchise. Boston Garden wasn't air conditioned and the summer of '75 the Red Sox had all the attention in Boston (Carlton Fisk HR?). Brine lost so much money the league folded.

Wings are NLL though? That seems to be working out. And there is an NLL franchise out on LI now, the Riptide.

This seems like something not even the equivalent of lower-level Arena Football. Which was like last time. And that was going to be in Trenton as well.

The one now, Arena Lacrosse League seems to be connected with the NLL as a developmental set up. They even have a junior level league, like hockey. But again, some of those Canadian cities I've never heard of.

The Wings, historically, have always found a league to play in. Right now it's the NLL.

NLL is on a whole different level than all these other type of leagues
As I posted above this is an even lower level than the Arena Lacrosse League. Which is barely a feeder to the NLL.

For a hockey analogy, I would say it’s somewhere between the ECHL and a Canadian Junior level set up. With it being much closer to the Juniors than the ECHL. Much closer.
