The rainout ended up burning us.

USC plays that last game against Vandy (and likely loses) then we take the last bye on the tiebreaker.

Even had they beaten Vandy, they wouldn't have caught Arkansas in the standings, and Vandy could shrug off 1 loss to a ranked team easy.

We appear to be the only team adversely affected, by a rain-out we weren't even a part of.

You could tell that game would have an impact on us as soon as it was cancelled. It got a lot of chatter on this board at the time. However, if we could have found 1 more win anywhere in the SEC season it would be a moot point. There were many opportunities out there for 1 more win.

Not scoring with the bases loaded in the ninth burned us.

Good teams don't leave things to chance. They take care of business. Losers blame the weather.

Why is this so hard to figure out...

the SC-Vandy rainout had ZERO effect on the standings. Even if SC had lost that game we would STILL have had to sweep them this weekend to get the SEC fourth seed. The way things ended up we finished 1.5 games behind them. Had they played the Vandy game and lost we would have finished 1 game behind them.

Oh, I thought they finished a half game ahead, not 1.5.

Either way, rainouts can suck it.
