I know we have a lot of Selmon detractors here primarily due to football performance. However, the real metric for SEC ADs is the all sports trophy and the final ranking. We have typically finished at or near the bottom for years. Here is last years result: All Sport
It will be interesting to see if we have improved.

We only have a portion of the sports other schools have, we can't finish very high because of it, so it's not much of a metric.

Yep this is it. State will never finish very high because we don't sponsor as many sports as most of our peers.

The real metric for ADs: are you capable of finding and ultimately hiring coaches who elevate their program to success?

and, based on current circumstances, the jury is still out on ours.

I have no Insight on what went into the timing of firing Lemonis, but....

I think it was a Very shrewd bigg balls forward thinking decision to make before the schedule eased up.

we shall see who the replacement is.

It takes that into account. Its your total points earned by finish divided by the total number of points you could have earned based on what sports you play.

I don’t think the Sears trophy does that

I would have probably waited till the end of the season & fired him regardless. But probably easier to do it when Selmon did.

That is the end result that matters, yes. The first step to doing that is to be able to fundraise and build an NIL war chest. Selmon has done well on that part. Like you said, his hiring decisions are an incomplete at the moment. His legacy will be tied to Lebby for good or bad.
