The real reason last week was a "sellout" and this week may not be....

First of all, UK will bring only slightly more fans than UAB had there this past week. Very little added bonus from the visiting team this week....

However, if you were at the game this past Saturday, you saw that basically the ENTIRE west side upper deck was filled because tickets were GIVEN away...not sold...to everyone from the 4-H, the Boys and Girls Club, the Boys Scouts, the Girls Scouts, etc....

Those tickets will NOT be given away for an SEC game....which means the difference has to be made up in tickets sold, which is why there are 2500 tickets left...

There will be just as many MSU "fans" in attendance this Saturday....there just won't be as many freebies occupying the upper deck....

This is why we don't need an expansion that adds 10,000 seats....we simply need to bowl in the endzone, add a neglible number of seats, with a row of high-dollar skyboxes on top, and give us an updated, "real stadium" look....

I too believe that those tickets were given away, which would have to be a tax write off for the athletic department.

The 7 consecutive sell outs is very misleading, BUT you have to give the athletic department credit for giving the seats away to make the stadium look full for TV.

I agree, I see no way we sell out 10,000 - 15,000 additional seats. There is not that much of a need in the state of Mississippi.

We did not sell out the pre-expansion stadium on a regular basis. But once we expanded it, we almost always had crowds bigger than what would have fit in the old stadium. This is a fact.
