I was sitting here thinking about how 17ing hard it must've been to recruit pre-Seal complex & DWS expansion. Seriously it's night and day compared to years past. The Seal Complex is one of the best in the SEC right now..The stadium come Aug. will be one of the nicest in the nation. Combine those two improvements with our current coaching staff actually putting players in the league and not on their twitter pics like little brother...We're not the same ol' poor MSU anymore guys...We're THE mutha 17ing Mississippi State University embrace that **** have some 17ing swagger about it, love it. When the media talks us up don't 17ing talk yourself down bc some hick *** from east Alabama tells you to think otherwise. Have some balls and adopt your motto from here on out as Hail 17ing State. Also 17 our rival land-grant Auburn. That is all. Oh and #Dak4Heisman

its a mix of winning stability, practice facility, consistent coaching, stadium expansion, bowl appearance streak, and a few others. i am trying to nair any open patches of skin for fear of wool sprouting that wont stop growing, leaving me suffocated by excessive wool growth.

I think coaching stability may be biggest of those. I know that the facilities have come a long way, but I think *** has learned a lot over the last few years. Let's not forget this is his first head coaching job, and he has made some mistakes both on the field and recruiting in the past. I think some of the in state recruiting mistakes were being naïve to our brethren up North's recruiting tactics. If you look at coaches that have been successful, at an average school (not a top 5 historically like Bama), it takes some time to turn that ship around. And, traditionally we have not been even an average SEC school in W-L's.

Our staff changed the age at which we start recruiting kids a couple years back when a certain assistant coach was hired. That's paying off. We've been on some of these kids for 3 years now, as compared to Dan's first few years it'd only be a year.

Calm down, bro. One of the nicest stadiums in the nation? It's def an upgrade from what we had but it's not even one of the nicest in the SEC West.

Kyle field? You do know what's going on there right? And BDS is pretty nice as well.

The facilities are nice but they just show you're trying and are not going to sway a recruit.

Mullen finally has a staff that can compete in recruiting. I'm not sure why we never heard of Juicy Geoff's recruiting prior to him becoming DC but whatever changed, it's working. Brian Johnson was a great hire and I'm interested in seeing how long State will keep him. Let's face it, Koenning was a lame duck. Johnson is one of the rising stars in the coaching ranks. I'm not sure how Deshea has paid off yet but those are tough shoes to fill. Melvin had connections. Tony Hughes has always been a good recruiter and scout so I'm not surprised there. You also have enough scholarships to offer to play the field and sign a couple of tweeners who who have great relationships with some of the studs.

That said, it's July.

What I've been preaching for a while now. None of you should be happy with status quo. LT is gone. Crxxms is gone. Struggling athletic budget is gone. Let OM crow about how awesome they were in the 60's and their football championships awarded to them by "Confederate Homes
& Gardens" and "Southern Antebellum Living". The golden years of Mississippi State football have not happened yet....

I am just enjoying it. Like most of you I don't allow State's football status to define my worth. But man it feels good when people are crying about State doing well at something. 17everyone else.

You are correct sir, this is a big part of it.

Everything can be wrapped up in one word: STABILITY

Dan has been here a while, we show no interest in firing, he shows no interest in leaving. Dan played for the long term when he first got here instead of going for quick wins to bump up his profile for another job. He red shirted, built up the defense, and generally followed a really good playbook to bring a team near the bottom up, including starting the recruiting younger. In my mind Dan has done an amazing job because we win the games we are supposed to. He has been holding close in the games we should lose but now we have to turn the corner and start winning a few of those. I'm really impressed with the plan he put in place and the execution so far.

Stability and sustained success. 4 bowls in a row and 4 out of 5 Egg Bowls. I used to get a kick out of UM fans in Mullen's first few years saying that he was just looking to bolt for another job as soon as he could. When if you looked at the way he was running the program, it was obvious he was building for the long haul, even to the point of MSU fans complaining that he was redshirting too many players.

Deshea would like you to know that Whitley, cox and Calhoun may be able to help you get a feel for that

Maybe they can help me get a feel for your incoherent response to my post. Maybe they can also help me get a feel how Melvin's connections help us pull a 3-star recruit and 2-star recruits. Maybe they can also help me get a feel how Melvin got played by Koolio.
