Looks like the Connie's Fried Chicken joint is about to open in Starkvegas. What's the word on their biscuits and blueberry donuts and their whole menu I guess, I've never been to one?
It's pretty good. I've eaten there in Tupelo and West Point. I'm always glad for more restaurants in Starkville, I hope they do well.
Never had the blueberry donut, but it's apparently a popular item.

It’s still good, but not as outstanding as it was under the original family. New ownership has changed a few things up- I’d guess to streamline processes for multiple locations. The blueberry donuts are legendary.

Original Tupelo location used to be about the best breakfast in North Mississippi. Mr. Connie died a long time ago, and recently new owners took over and expanded. The West Point location is a ghost town. That should answer your question about how good the chicken is as well as the breakfast. Last time I stopped for breakfast it was a microwaved piece of meat on a biscuit. The blueberry donut was slightly sweet.

Edited to add that they did "reformulate" the chicken recipe a couple of months ago, and it was better, but. . .

Best onion rings I ever had. Of course that was mid 80's in Tupelo.

Anyone ever been to Tudor's Biscuit World? Those are the best I've ever had.
Man those things are as big around as your head! Had one in West Virginia. Pretty damn good. I got one that had the hashbrown on the biscuit along with the meat, cheese, and egg. I needed a nap!

The fact that it's a chain makes it even more bizarre. They are insanely good.

All gas-station biscuit recommendations thus far pale in comparison to the Hot Spot Exxon across the street from Germantown football stadium in Gluckstadt. It isn't known as "the biscuit store" for nothin'.

Maybe it’s just nostalgia from my days at Northeast, but the Dodge’s in Booneville is not to be overlooked.
Excellent as well. Back in the day we were coming home from the old Gilligan’s Beach Club in Jackson, TN one early morning. There was a nice old man mopping the floor in the Booneville Dodge’s. He asked my friend “Y’all going fishing?” He said without looking at him.. “HELL NO! I’m goin home!”

What was the one in Pickwick? I think it was Gilligan’s too! Sexy sixty seconds on a seadoo!

I remember Spinaker’s in Jackson, TN but I think it changed names several times over the years. My tenure would have been 97-00.

In any case, those damn greasy pizza sticks and Jojo taters from Dodge’s helped me power through and get to class many Friday mornings.

The question is, are the biscuits larger than, or smaller than, a cat head?
