Are they only playing the chorus or the whole song? "Tell me something good" seems fitting in a comic relief sort of way.

Love that song--gets me dancing in my seat. And not daddy dancing, hardcore badass dancing. Yes sir.

It's annoying. So is the band playing "all the small things" and the rest of their early 90s repertoire.

I love it and have heard other stadiums play it..how can you not like old school Chaka Khan. Sure beats some horrible rap song or Katy Perry.
Especially the one near the end of the 3rd quarter that talked about "...my Glock..." in the lyrics.

Who the hell thought that was a good idea?

Well, Al thought the "surprise" could have been a performance by Fetty Wap. HIs summer hit is about cooking crack and selling it in Paterson.

Get wit it, gramps...lol

This should be the replay song. The lyrics fit and the students would be more into it.

How about one, ONE (1) country song from Luke Bryan, Tim McGraw, Carrie Underwood, you know, mainstream, for 20% of those paying good money. Before? During? After any significant play...I could find a "waiting" song in five seconds.

But ya gotta love the stealth band walking around the stadium playing "Happy", don't cha?

I don't mind the assassins thing that much, with the group of brass players popping in and out around the stadium. The stale 25 year old "popular" music is a bit much, though.

Don't get me wrong: I love the concept. And we used to do that when I was in the band. The difference was we'd play stuff like charges and shortened versions of Viva La Rutgers Sons, Men Of Rutgers, Colonel Rutgers, the Bells Must Ring, etc.

Do you guys go to a football game or a classic rock concert?
Done right (with all the pageantry associated with it) a Big Time college game should resemble something like that.

It's not just the game. Never was never should be. That's why college football is different.

I guess people are split on the song. I would prefer something that would keep the crowd's energy level up. You can practically hear someone sneeze from 2 sections away during that time period. Perhaps it is more exaggerated for me because I am standing on the field and looking back into the crowd, but to me, the song zaps the energy from the crowd. I'd prefer to have the band playing or something "lively" piped in over the speakers.
