I think I'll roll into the fetal position now and whimper. How can those Golden Lions be stopped? I'm scared, hold me.

Your starting to scare me.

Okay, I get it and applaud your great program. There is no question as to the greatness of your history. Good on you and your fans!

But, this new conference puts you smack in the middle of Red Raider territory. Now impress me! Red Raiders crap bigger than you!

Kinda like the Tar Heel Basketball and New England Patriots, the true dynasty's just keep on going.
refresh my memory did not duke beat Carolina 2 out of three games this year. so to me that makes duke the champs of the state.

I noticed that the video failed to say who Shelby lost to in the 1924 championship game. It was none other than Rockingham which is the foundation that Richmond Sr high was built on. The trophy for that game was in the trophy case at Rockingham. I don't know what they have done with it but I am sure it is still around.

New England is pretty far from being a true dynasty if you're talking about years of dominance. They only became relevant this millennium. As far as college basketball goes, the only schools in that conversation are Kentucky and UNC, maybe Kansas. I'm a Duke fan but our first title didn't come til the 90s. Indiana used to be in the conversation but haven't been relevant for quite a while.

Hate to, really hate to, but you have to include UCLA in any basketball dynasty conversations.

7 NCAA ships in a row, 10 in 12 years.

Did I mention hate to?

Think you are on to something but it goes along the lines of excellence sustained over many generations. A dynasty itself I believe would be a dominance in a sport for a more finite amount of time.

Steelers 70s, MJ(I mean Bulls) 90s, Patriots(ugh) 2000s.

Oh and even Duke(Double Ugh) for their run since rat face got his footing.

I meant it purely along the lines of generational dominance, like the Shelby boys like to thump their chest about. Now if we are talking about dominating a decade or so, I agree that there have been many such "dynasties."

UCLA had the ultimate dynasty in college basketball during their run, but haven't won but one title since. Also interesting to note that if it weren't for UCLA, both Duke and UNC would have one more title apiece.

If it were not for UCLA one if the team they beat in their way to the title may have beaten Duke or UNC. UNC's year to win it was 1972 but Florida State with two North Carolina kids pulled the upset in the semi.

I was thinking of 64 and 68, when Duke and Carolina were clearly the second best teams in the country. UCLA was just that much better.
