Yeah, her too. Geezus, I screwed that one up.
Total Eclipse of the Heartland.
Heading down to Wilber NE (2.5 minutes of totality) depending on the cloud cover. Hope to stay away from the really big crowds. Also, Kolaches!
I prefer the remake preformed by The Dan Band.
I'll be caught between the moon and New York City.

Right here in good old GI. Should have a perfect view from my driveway.
I'll be hanging out in the backyard of my son's house in Grand Island while he's in Wisconsin (LOL). While I'm there I'll try and keep people off the lawn too so it doesn't get destroyed.
Won't you spend the day treating people who looked at the eclipse through binoculars?

First sentence out of my ortho's mouth was "You don't need knee replacement yet". He left 1/3 of my meniscus. Torn it twice on medical calls attending to patients. Been putting off this surgery for almost 5 years, but when it starts to lock up and your wife & coworkers can hear it POP every once & a while it's time. BTW day 2 & no pain meds. Not gonna happen.
Good that you have some cartilage left. Treasure it for as long as it lasts.
I have a matched set of artificial knees, the second one coming about a year ago. I have no complaints, and in fact I feel blessed to live in a time when these options are available to us. But going through the procedure is no fun, to say the least. Good luck with your recovery.
Same here...also making sure that the students keep their glasses on at ALL times so I will probably miss the entire event!! Winking
Ha! Same here. A little nervous but I'm sure it'll be fine. Not sure who worries me more, Kindergarteners or 5th graders.

No, you're not. Channel 7 ran a story this week about a lady living outside Ravenna or Tryon (can't remember which) that was hosting a busload of Germans for the event. Traveling to the US. For a 2 minute event. That will happen again in 7 years. Add me as one who doesn't get the eclipse nerdism. Thank goodness for capitalism that many, many people don't share my opinion.
Nope. I couldn't care less. We will have a half eclipse here in PA and even for that everyone here is going nuts. Not saying people are wrong to be interested in this. But I am not.
I will be home, starting my season of lamb shearing and butchering. That will be followed by bourbon on my balcony. Don't know how I will react though to our three minutes of partial darkness...

I will be here in Nashville to watch. Strangely enough we have a songwriters night here at The Goldrush. Phil Brown will be one of the writers, and he wrote Total eclipse of the heart for Bonnie Tyler. Pretty cool.
I have one artificial knee. It is just "ok". I am only 58, but I needed the surgery (so they said) because of damage to the knee caused by a skydiving accident I had in 1989. My chute did not fully open and I landed hard after falling through some trees. Tore up the knee bad.
But here is my point Sparky: my knee before surgery, even with great pain, could still do more **** than my knee can now do free of pain. So my advice is to fight for that "natural" knee as long as you can, no matter the pain.
Trust me sir. I am. Still swollen, BUT I'm walking, putting weight on it, and doing what I can to make sure I keep it.
Just saw Lincoln's weather forecast for tomorrow's eclipse: partly cloudy. Hope that is wrong for you guys out there who have been looking forward to this.
