Looks like a great player but remember we have no played any strong teams just yet. I really hope he plays like this against Kansas and NC and in the SEC.

I haven't seen a non-guard pass as well as him in a long, long time. Best since...Erik Daniels?

My perception was that the Eric Daniels & Chuck Hayes interior passing was the best frontcourt passing I've seen at UK. Preseason I thought that team was dead-on-arrival and it actually turned out to be the epitome of the whole being greater than the parts - and that passing duo may have been the biggest reason for that, I believe.

We got so lucky to get this kid. Cant imagine where we’d be without him right now considering all the other bigs are hurt. He very well could end up being the difference between another early exit and a final four birth.
He’s exactly the type of player Cal should be recruiting to play the 4 every single year now. It’s amazing how much easier it makes the offense when a dude like that can shoot.

Daniels and Hayes was like a work of art to watch then play together. Still one of my all time favorite UK teams.

Love the guy.

But I’m still wondering what happens when the centers start playing. Moving Mitchell to PF negates the advantages we have at both positions when he’s at the 5 and Thiero’s at the 4.

Suddenly you have a situation where Mitchell can’t guard some 4’s - while they can defend his perimeter shots. And you lose Theiro attacking 4’s, creating foul trouble for them, and getting to the line himself.

Love the guy. But I don’t love any scenario in which a true center returns and Mitchell plays alongside him.

He’s a stretch 4, but he’s not an NBA type stretch 4. He’s done well precisely because he has played as a stretch 5.

I’ll say it again (and I know many will disagree), but our team will not be nearly as effective if Mitchell is at the 4 and Theiro is in the bench.

Small ball has rescued some games for us in the past. Remember last year's "Benny lineup?" Maybe Cal will acknowledge the smallball success before the fans have to taunt him about it.

The stretch 4 we have been missing that can shoot from the perimeter on a consistent basis since PJ left and gives this team another senior leader on the court. Battle tested in the Big 12. Was thrilled to get him late in the game.

Mitchell was a great addition to this team. He is going to make a difference in a game or two and might be the guy that gets us a big win in the tourney. I am expecting him to be a big shot maker.

Call me crazy, but he kind of reminds me of Scott Padgett.

Love to see him do a “Scott Padgett ‘98 Duke game” impression in the Elite Eight!

If one of the bigs can give us some minutes I like Tre at the 4. Going to be money behind the arc and that should help me get to the the rim. Not sure about his D guarding the 4 but like Tres strength and ability to stand tall.

Really love his basketball IQ on display out there so far. Looking like he's really letting the game come to him too, looks relaxed. Great to have his experience for this group of young cats.

Hope to see big things from him throughout the year. I think he will find his groove in just about any lineup that CCC will put out on the floor with him.

Here's to seeing the best from him!

Go Big Blue!
