The next time you talk to the "schedule makers" be sure to tell them you don't like it. I wonder how the players/coaches feel about it?

Seems like this pretty much happens every season? Am I just dreaming it? At least a week, maybe 9-10 days? I think it was a week after Louisville last season, and 10 days between the games after UL. Sounds about right.
It’s always been this way 9-14 days. When Cal was here everyone called it camp Cal. Because that’s when he supposedly implemented the changes that’s take us to the next level for March. It’s like that for every team. Allows players to go home with family a few days and get back for a week of practice before the next games.

Year before
Dec 21 Dec 29 January 6

8 days.

Year before 7 days.

Year before 7 days.

Some of you have false memories.

Do better.

I do not like an 11 day break in mid season. I am pretty sure this is the longest break of my lifetime.

I was just telling my wife, there is no games on, I hope Alabama don't have a warm up game before us. Might not be good, and we have learned that practice is a totally different game, no matter how deep you think your team is. Just gives a person to much damn time to think about basketball. I gotta get my ice fishing gear back out, if these guys would rather eat then play ball 🤣

I'm with you, these long breaks suck, but we have had players coming back from injury's, so maybe not a totally bad thing.

I'm nervous about Saturday's game. Not because of the win/loss factor, but because we should finally find out what kind of potential this team (full strength) actually has. I think it leans to the positive side, but............... and I'm nervous to know the answer.
Bama is gonna be hard. Mizzou will show if we can hang in SEC play this year. They’re not great but they’re not bad. Just like a lot of SEC teams right now.

I’m hoping for 4-1 over the next 5.

I’m glad Pope gave JQ 7 minutes against Bellarmine to help shake off the rust for the Bama game.

I see both sides of that.

Yeah I want him getting game exp. No, I don't want something stupid to happen in a noncon gimme.

Also, why does TV suck this weekend? A lot of people are off and want to wind down after Christmas .

There's nothing but garbage on atm.

NO CBB today. Two NFL games and a bunch of MEH bowls.

It is what it is. There's not a single CBB game today.

Only two nfl games- and they aren't playoff games.

Handful of NBA games but they're all mid afternoon/late gams.

Bowl games but nothing of merit.

Just a MEH day in sports. It's a big travel weekend too though. Lot of folks going back home.

He is cleared to play at full speed and his injury is healed. Worrying about bad things happening is not a winning mentality. Pope talks about knowing the assignment, but seems to coach not to lose.

It's super annoying! I've been trying to find out what time the game starts and my phone keeps telling me the Bellarmine score.

I'm fine giving the players some time off to go home and spend Christmas with their families. They come back have a few days of practice then travel to Tuscaloosa.

I always try and be fair with expectations heading into games. Is that a game we can. Win? Absolutely. Is it a game we should win? No. Its in their building and they will be favored. There aren't a whole lot of teams in the county that SHOULD win in Tuscaloosa
We have one in that gym many times when we weren’t the favorite. Not saying we are definitely going to win but it’s not that big a stretch for the Cats to get the upset!

Too bad we can’t get Cal to go tweak Bama for us.

Not at all, I think we have a good shot. But I also know it will be Armageddon on here if we lose

I'm not risking a dude for 30 minutes in a game I should easily win. Come next week? All or nothing.

Depends. Lose by 20+? Yeah that's not a good sign .

Put up a really good fight and lose by a couple on the road? It will suck but it won't be world ending.

Not for me. I take losses very hard, but I’m also realistic. Many fans think we will win every game and disrespect our opponents. You can be a really, really good team and still lose at Alabama. I’m looking for us to play well, and I’m HOPING we win.

Some of the fans: “You didn’t pick us to win. You’re a fake fan if you don’t think we will win every game by 30+. You have lowered the ‘standards.’”

Some of the other fans: “You’re dumb for picking us to win, because we don’t do this certain thing good enough for me to be happy. You’re just coping…cope with Pope…”

Nope. You can be a fan and not let yourself fall into the infinite black hole of sadness and you can be a fan without dancing on rainbows while eating Skittles and looking for pots of gold.

I don't want to wait either, but at least this season we have two guys that can legitimately use it. Lowe and JQ. JQ will have more time to condition and gel with the team. He seemed to have some tired wheels out there against Bellarmine.
