My wool has been slowly sheared all week. Been trying to find some stats

that justifies taking State at +24 and I just can't. The only hope is that against Tennessee we were less concerned about stopping the run than giving up the big pass play. That may have been the case...because I watched Broomfield line up 20 yards deep when UT was in the Wildcat with Bray at receiver.

We are going to get hit in the mouth early and be in a state of shock on both sides of the ball, up front. I think the game will be over by halftime.

At the beginning of the week I thought we would be within 10 going into the 4th quarter.

I took it. I believe we cover, I think we can win, and don't think it is as impossible as everyone thinks. Especially when EVERYONE says this is the best team ever. Reminds me of USC every year...until they get beat.

Last year it was a game late and ended up 17 points and that was with a non-throwing, possibly (probably) stoned QB. I will not be shocked in the least if we keep it inside the vegas line.

Correct. And, Russell looked pretty good against Bama until late...where we had to throw every down and he was nearly brutally murdered.

the only negative I have with it is all of the farking possibilities we have created should we lose.

I think we cover if we don't have too many turnovers or give up too many punt/kick returns for TDs.

Why say no... when it feels so good to say yes..

I'm not betting so I can take all objectivity out of a fun filled day of hope. They are not immortal and we have a football team too.

There are no stats for a team playing with a chip on their shoulders.

that justifies taking State at +24 and I just can't. The only hope is that against Tennessee we were less concerned about stopping the run than giving up the big pass play. I believe we will come out with something to prove and we will be up on Bama after the 1st Qtr. The question is can we keep the fire going the whole game to pull off the upset. Bama has only beating Msu under Mullen 1 time by more than 24 points and that was Mullen's first season. I believe this is Mullen's best squad since coming to State and don't see Bama beating us by more than 24 points. I feel like we have too much leadership to let that happen.

I can say this... It does mean a lot to the players and coaches. I just left from my workout today at the Holliman and I talked to Balis a little bit afterwards. He said in all of his time being associated with a football program, he's never seen this type of support from a fanbase and that the players and coaches are really feeding off of it.

Win or lose, all this fan support has been amazing. If our guys just play a great game and give it all they got (and not get blown out), this program will get respect.
I believe we can do it, but I also know it is possible that we come up short. Regardless, 17 BAMA!!

i had this thought to, I don't know if dan will leave or not ...but you will have a real hard time telling me he will be loved (from the fanbase) and supported (from the president on down) as much as he is in this town and with this administration ...that has to mean a little something

i realize it don't mean 5million a year ...at a school that will pay 5mill/year he will never be the greatest coach at that school either
If he does somehow someway one day win a SEC or National championship ...he will be consider the greatest coach ever to coach here

with that being said ...we have to raise our assistant coaches pay to get to the levels of the consistent winners, when we start consistently winning

Maybe it has something to do with the cold front... but I've gotten awfully wooly over the last 24 hours.

I almost feel sorry for what The Mississippi State University will unleash on the hapless ua-Tuscaloosa Menstrual Flows. I know that anything that bleeds for 6 days and doesn't die is dangerous, but I believe The Mississippi State University will handle their business. The only way I see uat upsetting us, is if their linemen threaten to infect them with their blood-borne diseases.
