there appears to be some new concern over Ward on the spirit

recruiting board this morning. They may have gotten some bad news about his latest ACT results. That would be a big blow to their recruiting rankings if we retro-rank such a thing.

there is an article about him not being admitted yet along with some quotes from freeze about "plans", "test scores", etc. That is probably what they are talking about.

I wonder if that revokes his brother's scholarship? Looks like they may now be eating up a scholarship on a guy they didn't really want on scholarship without the benefit of getting the high profile brother on the team (at least not immediately).

being too stupid to make the minimal score to get into State or Ole Miss. Raises an interesting question though. Would you trade being intelligent for being an athletic imbecile with a chance to make millions?

One should almost be able to make random marks and score that high.

Many (all?) public schools nowadays pass a student whether he should pass or not ... unless the parents want him held back. So that just escalates all the way through high school. Was a different story "back in my day".

I heard his GPA is REALLY low and couldn't be fixed because his HS got taken over by the state. Because of the sliding scale, he has to do really well on the ACT and hasn't done so yet

they used to have all kinds of tricks to get recruits eligible (schools in mendenhall, plans, byu, etc.) and the vast majority of the time did. There was never really a discussion about south panola stars going to MSU and all of a sudden for the first time ever, south panola came to an MSU camp as a team. I haven't heard anything about a "driver" in awhile. I feel like I am in bizarro world.

I just dont know. Maybe the players that actually got in had the grades and the players that didn't get it didn't make the grades. Hard to believe but maybe this inconsistency of players making grades is the fact we aren't cheating. Nah can't be. Nick James is in in June, quay in January and we are the cheaters**

There's no way you can possibly defend the CJ situation. That's easily worse than Dontae' Jones' 145 hours of credit in one summer semester.

with Manny Diaz leaving since that's when he decommitted and that was his coach. I could also defend it saying he wanted to play with his friends. But I'm not going to because like you said every rival says their rival cheats. It's dumb. Quay committed to us and got a Landshark tatoo yet I really believe he has a great relationship with Wilson and wants to play for the winning program. Yes I believe Channing committed to us in big part because of his brother but also because Freeze recruited the living **** out of him, not because we bought him. Whether you want to believe CJ was bought or not realize if we would do it y'all would do it, meaning if we have done it, y'all have done it. It's dumb to accuse someone of something you have done or would have done

Use a bathcloth to get the sand out of your ******. He said tricks...which were loopholes it was well known that UM was using.

correct me if i'm wrong (i'm sure you will) but didn't cj tweet about, including pictures of his new truck once he made it to campus? At about the same time, he was telling people on Facebook or twitter that he got the truck b/c the range rover or whatever it was had too many miles on it? And before he made the switch, word was that during high school he drove an older silverado. Hmmm, switch your commitment and you all of a sudden go through two new to you vehicles.

Just look at the players from Mississippi that he has gotten into school for the Ragin Cajun's. 'The Program' was David Saunders.

and it really doesn't matter 'what' I think about CJ. I do know that right up 'til the end he said all the 'right' things to lead everyone to believe he was headed to State.

Not the same with Quay & Moore who committed early and 'flipped' 'cause OM went in the tank.

Hey, CJ was definitely 'right on' with this quote about the Egg Bowl ...

"I will get to play in the game next year and State is going to win again."- CJ Johnson on the Egg Bowl

can tell you that he is actually well spoken. I don't mean that he has an unusually large vocabulary, but you wouldn't say the guy is unintelligent by any means. I think that whole "can't read" episode was an attempt to get him eligible at oxford. I think he just didn't apply himself at all while in h.s. and that is why he wasn't eligible. I've never tested him or anything, but you would never get the idea that he was anything less than average in the smarts dept.

From what I heard from my Ole Miss brother is that his Mom had signed him up for special education and such because she would then get more bennies from the gubmint. The whole story made it sound like she rode him like a damn mule all the way to college. I'm glad he got to play at Ole Miss, get some Higher Education, and an NFL salary. Sounds like he had a pretty crappy childhood.

Since CJ initially committed to this guy!

When Johnson committed to State, Diaz was DC @ MTSU. Yeah, I'm sure that's why he left**
