There are two possible outcomes to this Cam Newton story...

1. Kenny Rogers is shown to be a clown who never represented the Newton family, but was trying to make some money and get his hooks into a potential pro prospect for his agent buddy. Auburn fans declare a jihad on MSU football and give Dan Mullen the Phil Fulmer treatment next year at SEC Media Days.

2. Cecil Newton is shown to be money-grubbing, stage-dad who hooked up with the shady street-runner Rogers and decided to make some money off of his son. A random Auburn booster is implicated in paper trail as being associated with Rogers around December of last year. In two years the NCAA drops the hammer on Auburn, USC-style. Auburn fans declare a jihad on MSU football and send Dan Mullen & John Bond so many death threats the FBI sets up a satellite office in Auburn, Alabama.

We have done nothing to Auburn. Never mentioned them by name in any way, shape or form. It's Auburn that is now in the position of proving themselves innocent in the court of public opinion, what ever went down it makes them look suspicious. Between now and then, Auburn and the Newton's will spin this into State trying to buy a player through a former player. They will claim they did not need to pay Newton for him to pick Auburn over STARKSville. Therefore, no money was exchanged and Newton is clear to play. Newton will continue to play. AU and Newton will pimp slap UT-Chat and UGA. As more and more comes out, and the excitement of the Iron Bowl builds, the media and Alabama will put Newton/Auburn under an extreme amount of pressure. It will become a huge distraction to the Auburn team and they lose in Tuscaloosa. Auburn then misses out on the NC. The story loses alot of stem. Newton leaves school after November because of the pressure and focuses on the NFL draft. The story completely dies until 2014 when the NCAA reaches a decision. Just a guess though.

he wasn't going to get into where the money came from to bring his church up to code. He has also hired a lawyer...why? If the funds were not related to his son's recruitment why not give the NCAA investigators the necessary paper work and then move on.If Cam's recruitment was dirty, it isn't John Bond's fault. He did not accuse Auburn of wrong doing, or even mentioned their name AFAIK.

and I used to pull for AU over Bamer...now I'm torn.. there is a difference between routine foe vs foe SEC recruiting that we all know goes down..

but this was different... the relationship between newton and mullen goes way back... newton's heart was with us and it was all but a done deal.. cecil came down on his son and went with AU over us because we were not going to play the price tag

AU stepped out of bounds on this deal and anybody with 1/2 a brain knows what the hell happened.. if you've been going head to head for a while like many recrootin' battle go then you let it go...

but when you've got your guy with you based on a long relationship and you've got the kid ready to committ and all of a sudden THIS kind of **** goes down?..
