Dave Baker has been touting Stansbury on Lexington radio and TV. Of course there is talk about bringing one of the hometown heroes back to Lexington - Ford or Pelphrey. They have been dubbed the "the duo of average". Which made this post from the thread interesting: "Stansbury is 1000x > Pelphrey/Ford"................... A couple of other gems from the thread: "Actually, the only disaster would be fan reaction. Stansbury has proven to be a great coach at an outhouse of a program. The man plays a pretty exciting brand of basketball and is consistently very good. He shouldn't be in the top 5, but he should be in the top 15 imo."................."Stansbury is a good coach. I think he is a good tactician. He can obviously recruit. He is not an elite coach yet, but he is a top 15 or 20."..............And my personal favorite: "Stansbury is from KY I think. I can't stand the way he claps, but I think he's a good coach."

The fools who constantly belittle him would get what they deserve. Hopefully Byrne has enough sense to realize the value of Stansbury and I think he does. Ky would be hard to pass up for anybody and I have no doubt he'd succeed there.

He's not a big enough name for UK and Meo would not let him take the job, if offered. They love Starkville and have no plans of ever leaving.

Sorry haters, just not going to happen.

Now before you go off on a three year tangent about how UK wanted Stansbury, Dave Baker is a media guy and they quotes came from schmucks like you. In other words, he has no shot.

Now there's a guy who looks like he can handle the UK fanbase. Especially with all the winning he's doing right now.

The chance of Stans being hired as UK head coach are about the same as mine. Stans is a good, solid coach.... good, not great. He does some things well, but he definately has his faults. I realize that hurts some of y'all's feelings, but its the truth. I think the reason he gets so much criticism here, is because our coaching and teams usually have the SAME weaknesses and faults yr in yr out, and not much progress has been made in those areas. I'm not saying he needs to go at all. Stans may leave one day, but not for UK, not till he accomplishes more.

oh, I'm not doubting stans wouldn't leave for the ky job (who wouldn't), I'm doubting ky would take him. He'd probably even be reasonably successful there, but KY isn't going to hire a coach who hasn't had a team in the top 25 in what, 5 yrs?

You and coach 34 are starting to act like clones, just print what you want somebody to say and then take a shot at them. I hope they don't offer and they probably won't ,but I don't think Stans is as bad as the so-called high profile coach they just fired. If Ky wants to anti up they probably can get anybody they want but their fans are a lot like Ole Miss and Bama fans in football, they still think it is like it was years ago and it isn't.
