In every SEC game we play with the exception of kentucky and the rebels, we are way behind the other team in talent. In order to beat any of them, we need to catch them at the right time or get some breaks of some sort. As bad as Miles is, when I figured out this was LSUs first home game, I knew we were going to get their best effort. And I believe that lsu has more talent that anyone else outside of bama. They are badasses with a bad QB. We just need to schedule like the ackbars and hope to string together some 6-6 and 7-5 seasons so we can hope to build on recruiting. Problem is, at this time, the SEC is as strong as I remember in my 25 years of following it.

it's delusional to expect to be competive? It's delusional to expect a Mullen-run offense to put up more than 7 points on LSU when Crooms put 24 on them in his last game there? Look, most realistic State fans didn't expect to win this game given the talent gap, but for God's sake couldn't we have at least been competitve last night?

I didn't expect a win. I expected a good football game.

Instead, I was shown a team that looked no better than any other craptastic MSU team from the last 10 years.

it wasn`t a fluke...we just did it. We had a quarter and a half to score 4 stinking points in our house against an Auburn defense that we had figured out inour first possession of the second half.Ouroffensive coaching staff completely screwed that game up and we lost. But we hadenough talent to win. That`s not delusional that`s a fact.

Whinning about talent is getting old. Sure we`re going to be less talented than most SEC teams we face but this coaching staff has got to put what talent we have in the position to win and then finding a way to to pull it off.As long as we17 off our chances ingames like LSU "09" and Auburn "10" we ain`t going anywhere talent or no talent.

Dyer and McCaleb both play, and both play well.3 and 0. Cadillac and Ronnie Brown. Constant success. McFadden and Felix Jones from Arkansas. 10 and 2 regular season.Youcan be successful with multiple RB's if you use them to their strengths.

I'm not saying any of our RB'sare of this caliber, but they are being misused. Ballard needs some straight draws or some off tackle. Perkins on some option or some tosses or flare passes to get his speed out in the open. Our RB's do things well, but our offensive staff isn't allowing our guys on offense to be in the positionto utilize their strengths. And I think that is what our entire offense boils down to. Mullen is forcing his system, and not allowing our guys to use their strengths to our advantage.

last year and we got cute for onlyGod knows why. We pull of a wonderful onside kick against Auburn this year at a super critical point in the gameand thenwe get cute for only God knows why. Did our offensive line look like swiss cheese on the opening drive of the first half against Auburn ? Hell no ! We had found what we could dobut thencompletely abandoned it .

Just like with Croom early ona bunch of folks seem to be too willing to completely blame talent when that`s only part of the problem. I still think Mullen can be a good coach but it`s time to start winning close games when his not-so-talented players and defensive coaches put him in the position to do so especiallyin home againstconference opponents.
