There's one MSU student who I am now permanently afraid of...

I saw that same kid running in that exact guille suit around campus a few days ago. I still don't know why he was running in it on the drill field but... I know now I won't say **** about him to his face.

Most of his other videos he shows how he made and edited the videos. He doesn't do that for the watermelon one.

One thing is for certain. It definately looks real.

i'm no ballistics expert, but I'm pretty sure the .50 cal round travels much faster and there would be no 'pause' between the recoil of the rifle and the 'explosion' of the melon at that distance.<div>

No one would agree to do that. The shooter or the guy with the watermelon on his head. Use common sense.

Might be real. Might be fake. But professional shooters could hit that watermelon from a mile away. Hitting a watemelon at 200 yards is cake. Pretty sure with 100 shots a pro shooter would hit it 100 times.

I know a guy that competed nationally shooting up to 600 yards with open sights. He's got about 20 or more trophies on the wall to prove it.

But would you be willing to risk being shot in the face with a .50 cal round for an entertaining youtube video? Would the shooter be willing to shoot someone in the face with a .50 cal round for an entertaining youtube video? All you have to do is miss by a few centimeters, and you just killed a guy.

Take into account what effects a bullet in flight. Wind, barometric pressure, distance, angle, a million other things. You've seen too many movies.

you still fight with your parents and friends about Santa being real too, don't you?

You might be officially insane, there are way too many variables to actually do that with a human life.

By the way the watermelon chunks go back, and to the left. Back, and to the left.

I'm going with the theory there was a second shooter placed behind the grassy knoll.....

You're exaggerating the factors that come into play with a 200 yd. shot. That is relatively short, and I am about 99% sure that I could make that shot with my regular deer rifle (with the addition of a bipod like the shooter has). Unless it was a hurricane, wind (and most of those other factors) wouldn't really come into play at that distance. And you'd have to miss by more than a few centimeters to hit the guy's head instead of the melon - more like 10 inches, which is a damn big margin of error for a decent shooter at 200 yards.

That said, I would be absolutely insane to attempt that shot. Could I hit a melon on a stand at 200 yards, with a scope and a bipod in prone position? Oh hell yes. Would I do it with a guy under the melon? OH HELL NO. I wouldn't attempt that shot with anybody anywhere downrange, hiding behind a tree, in a ditch, wearing body armor, or in a tank.

Why would Hunter be the idiot? That's an easy shot. If anybody is an idiot, it would be the Asian dude.

because you can clearly see the wire that runs up his leg that explodes the melon at the :30 mark.

Also, the shockwave traveling through the melon from a .50 cal shot at 200 yards would cause, at the very least, brain damage if not death.

As much as I want to think this is real, this quote is why I don't think it is. I've known people who used a 50 cal while in service and they told me that a 50 cal would kill a man without even touching him (shockwave) and could even tear flesh without it actually touching it.
